YOU'LL NEVER GET RICH
I have been watching alot of ERNIE BILKO the last few weeks! NAT HIKEN was the genius behind it and he went on to Produce CAR 54, WHERE ARE YOU? PHIL SILVERS was a wonderful comedic actor and the series won 8 EMMYS in it's first season! Talented people like Neil Simon and Arron Rueben were involved and the cast inspired HANNA-BARBERA's TOP CAT and BREEZLY & SNEEZLY. The first DVD set has introductions by ALLEN MELVIN and has wonderful guest stars like Alan Alda, Julie Newmar and Dick Van Dyke! I also love seeing FRED GWYNNE & JOE E. ROSS with Beatrice Ponds as his wife. Let's hope more DVDs are on the way!

JOHN K's blog
Here is a cool Mary Blair image from John K's blog. I have one of Mary's ICE CREAM box designs. Visit John's blog at www.johnkstuff.blogspot.com I have always been a big fan of his. He posted some package designs and comments and is right about all of it. What ever happened to well designed packages? Why do we have airbrushed, garbage art decorating cereal boxes and DVD covers now? None of it makes sense to John nor me. JOLLY SCARECROW'S CHRISTMAS SURPRISE
I ran into my old newspaper editor JACK MURRAY from THE REPORTER NEWSPAPER a few weekends ago. I did the editorial cartoons for the paper for ten years. He told me about Diane Petro Losiewicz's childrens book JOLLY SCARECROW'S CHRISTMAS SURPRISE and thought it might lend itself to a RANKIN/BASS special. Diane lives in Palos Heights, Illinois and gave me a copy of her book, which is available at www.amazon.com and www.barnesandnoble.com . You may want to check this out for a holiday book for the kids! It is Diane's first book and she put alot of heart and warmth into it!
Another BOB DUBE holiday card
Bob Dube likes to make his own holiday cards with RANKIN/BASS characters. This is his most recent.
SNOW!!!!
Here is a shot I took from my back door this morning. The snow has been unreal in the Chicagoland area this winter. We have already had 39 inches and this is the average total for a whole winter in Chicago. Tomorrow it will be the coldest day in Chicago in 13 years! Below zero temps? Arizona is looking so much better to me these days. Tuesday, January 13, 2009

SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL Park City, Utah
As we get pounded by some more snow in the Chicagoland area and the threat of a blizzard overnight....I think back to my trip to the SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL a few years back! I helped with a film called RINGERS: LORD OF THE FANS narrated by Dominic Monighan and had a wonderful time out in Park City! I went to the Producer's party at the LEVI RANCH and made friends with a band called WORLD WITHOUT SUNDAYS (pictured above).
My pals the GIN BLOSSOMS are playing at SUNDANCE this year in a few days! Check their site www.myspace.com/ginblossoms for more info! THE POLICE met up there a few years ago and decided to do their world tour!
The Producers and director from the film. They said I saved the film in the eleventh hour, so I had to make the trip for the screening and I am glad I did.
Producer CLIFF BROADWAY and myself at the Levi's Ranch! Beautiful Park City, Utah as I drove through the mountains below.
RINGERS: LORD OF THE FANS is now available on DVD from SONY PICTURES and a must for any J.R.R. Tolkien fan! It is available at http://www.amazon.com/ It's a SMASHAROO!
This is a VERY nice 2008 edition of THE DAYDREAMER (2008) with a cool, new cover! My liner notes are still inside. Love the TV Commercials on the disc! Available at WALMART for about $9.99!
