THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW

Still enjoying THE DICK VAN DYKE blu ray set!  The show looks AMAZING in HIGH-DEFINITION...you can see the actor's makeup..it is that sharp.  I love the fact that they left the commercials and billboards they had, in the body of the show automatically and the option is to watch them without the bumpers, etc.  I hated clicking on Dick's head, etc. when they were released on DVD.  There are many blu ray exclusives including a cool COLOR TEST on the WALNUT episode :)  It is neat to see what the open of the show looks like in color!

RANKIN/BASS' THE JACKSON FIVE SHOW

After watching RANKIN/BASS' THE JACKSON 5 SHOW the past couple of weeks, it dawned on me...  The theme is a combination of 4 of their BEST songs:  I WANT YOU BACK, ABC, THE LOVE YOU SAVE and MAMA'S PEARL.  The music sounds wonderful on this set including all of the Maury Laws musical cues.

THE BRASS BOTTLE

I found my 3-sheet from THE BRASS BOTTLE :)  They have been showing the film repeatedly on COZI the last few weeks... Burl from the same year as RANKIN/BASS' RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER.

SANTA'S VILLAGE

I drove past and located SANTA'S VILLAGE last week and was happy to see that it still exists in DUNDEE, ILLINOIS.  I knew they closed a few years back (I believe in 2005) and I didn't hear anything about it since BUT apparently it has been restored and reopened under new management as a park and zoo for small children.  They are open from spring to fall. www.santasvillagedundee.com

From Ron Murphy

I was telling Josh and Sara about the sale of the BATMOBILE that we saw and took tons of pictures of in Barris' shop :)  I think it sold at auction for something like $4.5 Million.  It wasn't all original and there were some strange signs added to it and various parts BUT it was one of the originals.
