@highlight This is the Santa that was actually used in the animation by Tad Mochinaga. The one at the Center for Puppetry arts was used for publicity photographs and the NBC studios display pictured in my book, Rankin/Bass' The Year Without a Santa Claus and 'Twas the night before Christmas 50th Anniversary scrapbook.

Art Carney died on this date in 2003 (His birthday was November 4th). He was one of my biggest supporters on my first two books and loved working for Rankin/Bass! A friend of mine was able to round up copies of appearances Art wanted to see again, before he passed. #Artcarney
