Todd Rankin

My friend David De Silva paid me a visit at MASTERWORKS Museum of Bermuda Art! We got to spend some quality time and I was able to introduce him to Olga Rankin, my fiance Denise and many of Arthur's closest friends We even had a bite to eat. He and his wife run a music store in Bermuda and he brought me a copy of LENNON BERMUDA (CD with tribute music by Bermuda artists to one of my favorite artists). I signed and did some art in his first edition copy of my first book. If you come to AF BOOKS this Saturday, I would offer to do the same thing. You don't have to buy anything...if you want to hang out and see the RARE stuff I am bringing, that is fine. You could bring unsigned copies of my books and I will sign and draw in them too. David and I corresponded over the last several years in email...glad we finally got to meet.

BATMAN 1966

So glad to see a simple cover design for the BLU RAY set, including a large logo and ADAM WEST and BURT WARD.  I think they could have found a better pose for West :)  Not sure why they decided to include a HOT WHEELS BATMOBILE and the 1966 trading cards though?  I have multiple copies already, as I am sure many fans of the series do as well.

ARTHUR RANKIN'S 90th Birthday Party

Denise and I had the pleasure of attending ARTHUR RANKIN'S 90th Birthday party at the MID OCEAN CLUB in Bermuda on July 19th.  I had a bit of a meltdown during my speech :)

Arthur didn't want a somber funeral/wake.  He wanted a huge party with his closest friends and family.

That is Arthur's wife Olga with the white purse.  She put all of this together with great success :)  That is Arthur's friend Ross Perot to the right of her in the white jacket, who was sitting right in front of me during my speech.

We sat at the SMOKEY BEAR table :)

Arthur's son Todd wore a costume from THE BUSHIDO BLADE.  He knew his father would have liked that.

Arthur had so many sweet friends, many from Bermuda and some out-of-towners.  We made friends with so many of them :)

McDonald's then and now

I love the design of this newer McDonald's in Lombard, Illinois.  It resembles the McDonald's of old, like the original Ray Kroc owned McDonald's in Des Plaines, IL BUT still keeps the modern functionality.   I am starting to really hate the two lane drive thru windows that McDonald's installed at all of their locations including this one.  I have had several people rudely cut me off in these windows....has this happened to anyone else?  The cars in the outside window pull up to each other bumper to bumper and they won't let you in (even the people that ordered after you).  I can see why McDonald's isn't doing so good in the market these days.

Did an interview with Bermuda's THE ROYAL GAZETTE today :)

The GLOW was fun!
