BEANY & CECIL Vol. 2 arrives!

I had the chance to pick up the sought after BEATLES Mono box today BUT took a pass. I know there are some differences BUT paying that much money (Mostly for packaging) is kind of a waste. I really don't like listening to mono versions of any performer that I am interested in...I always skip past them. STEREO is like adding color to a black and white picture. I did pick up A HARD DAY'S NIGHT remaster BUT am still finding it hard to hear that much difference in the new remasters. They sound great BUT they always sounded great.Thursday, September 10, 2009

THE BEATLES 09-09-09
It is a BIG BEATLES day! BEATLES BOX SETS and ROCKBANDS flew off store shelves early! I have a few of the remastered CDs and they are beautifully packaged....I am not so sure I can hear the difference that one year of remastering did. The CAPITAL CD box sets that came out a few years ago sounded GREAT! These new CDs are definitely an improvement over what was issued when CDs first came out BUT.... It is kind of like BLUE RAY...Your eyes have to be able to see the difference to appreciate it. I am not so sure my eyes can. Anyway, any BEATLES release is a good one and it is GREAT that they continue to be in the NEWS! I like Paul McCartney's comment about ROCKBAND "We look like Androids." Much of what I have seen from that looks bizarre BUT my son wants to get it and it is great that THE BEATLES are reaching kids through this stuff!
The BEST BUY Shirt/CD crate sets are GREAT! You can put all of your loose CAPITAL CDs in it as well! I have a huge collection of BEATLES CDs including all of the out-takes through YELLOW DOG and others. It is nice to be able to re-organize the stuff.

BEANY & CECIL Volume 2 on DVD was nowhere to be found today! I had a friend check several stores including BEST BUY, TARGET, FYE, etc. http://www.amazon.com/ has it listed now for $19.99 BUT ships 1-3 weeks??? So we just ordered it directly from the CLAMPETTS! I know it will be well worth the $28.99 with shipping. I think the problem is the fact that it is on HEN'S TOOTH VIDEO instead of IMAGE, like the first volume. The first Volume was absolutely amazing...so I am sure this will be too!posted by Davey P.
DISAPPOINTING!
What looked like a promising release from PARAMOUNT turned out to be a disappointment! They released the first ALVIN SHOW for $14.99 at BEST BUY or $12.99 at TARGET....BUT you only get the one original episode. The episode looks GREAT and PARAMOUNT should release the entire series in a box set for around $24.99....not one episode for half that price. 
They added two completely unwatchable things on this disc and call them episodes. One is A CHIPMUNK REUNION (Which resembles CARE BEARS of the 1980's) and the other is THE CHIPMUNKS PRESENT ROCKIN' THROUGH THE DECADES hosted by THE FRESH PRINCE??? After Ross Bagdasarian passed away, his franchise took a left turn that I don't think he ever would have taken. It is sad to see the kinds of things that have been done with his CHIPMUNKS.BEST BUY
