Some JACK DAVIS designed ANIMAGIC figures from RANKIN/BASS' MAD MONSTER PARTY (1967)... We see these characters in Mr. cronkite's pharmacy towards the beginning of the film...classic Davis style! He always puts a bird in the hat of the old ladies hats :) Arthur Rankin, Jr. is a big Davis fan and hired him for many projects (Some that did not make it to the screen). Arthur paid a special visit to Jack in recent years at his home/studio in Georgia.

KINDLE

It is on KINDLE with some new pictures too! THE ENCHANTED WORLD OF RANKIN/BASS: A PORTFOLIO will be up sometime this week (Lots of new color pics too)! We are looking at publishing with APPLE too! NOOK and BARNES & NOBLE are too restrictive and don't allow for coffee table type books with lots of illustrations to be published. I am looking at RUDOLPH on my ANDROID right now :)

CARTOON NETWORK

I occasionally watch a classic HANNA-BARBERA cartoon on BOOMERANG (Few survive) and during THE ATOM ANT SHOW or JOHNNY QUEST I am bombarded by commercials for CARTOON NETWORK....probably the dumbest, ugliest cartoons we have ever seen (my fiance and friends agree): ADVENTURE TIME and GUMBALL. Who is the target audience for these cartoons? My friend Tom said "they look like someone stuck a pencil in a dog's mouth and this is what it drew." It's true! I feel sorry for the kids of today, if this is what is thrown at them. Complete garbage! About 20 years ago, SPUMCO and others started a new wave of creator driven and beautifully designed cartoons....what happened since then?????
