I watched this the other night! Tennessee Ernie Ford did a great job on narrating and singing in Rankin/Bass' The Mouse on the Mayflower. He also had a good Christmas TV special with designs by Eyvind Earle (of Walt Disney's Sleeping Beauty fame) 🎅 #tennesseeernieford #thestoryofchristmas #nbc #christmas #eyvindearle

I love this newspaper and the cool RANKIN/BASS articles Kevin Castle has written!

I did a nice phone interview today on my lunch with Kev Castle at the KINGSPORT TIMES-NEWS! Kevin wrote a great RANKIN/BASS article on us a few years ago for the GO TRICITIES publication. The new article will focus on Tennessee Ernie Ford and RANKIN/BASS' MOUSE ON THE MAYFLOWER. Ford's hometown was Bristol, TN. The article will appear in the paper on Thanksgiving day!

Bing Crosby was originally slated for the classic RANKIN/BASS TV Special of 1968, as the Jack Davis poster art indicates! Even though all of the production stills from the special are in Black and White, the special is in COLOR!

Before Tennessee Ernie Ford narrated RANKIN/BASS' MOUSE ON THE MAYFLOWER, he was well associated with the holidays! I picked up this sealed LP at a HALF PRICE BOOK STORE recently and the DVD pictured about 5 years ago. The DVD features his December 22, 1963 NBC TV special sponsored by General Mills and it is illustrated with the beautiful artwork of famed Disney artist Eyvind Earle (SLEEPING BESUTY, FANTASIA). Great stuff!
