AP 2007

It has been years since I have seen these pictures!  I pulled them from the early days of my blog.   This was the second Christmas tour we did with the Rankin/Bass Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Santa Claus Animagic figures in December of 2007!  We appeared at Brookfield Zoo and set Attendance records both Saturday and Sunday and appeared at Borders Books in Schaumburg, IL as well!   The AP article broke (after we appeared with them in Columbus, Ohio) that season and people came from out of state and lined up to meet the Rankin/Bass icons!  #rankinbass #christmas #rudolphtherednosedreindeer #santaclaus #animagic #puppets #rickgoldschmidt #kevinkriess #brookfiledzoo #booksigning #holidaytv #history #biographer #icons

We had so much fun bringing a few of the Rankin/Bass screen used Animagic figures to Chiller Theatre (East coast) last Fall for photo ops! It was great to share them with the fans, as we also did at The Shag Store (West Coast) in West Hollywood! We hope to share more puppets at both places soon. A rare opportunity for everyone to see and take pictures with them 😄🇺🇸 #fathertime #redskelton #rudolphsshinynewyear #sistertheresa #angelalandsbury #thefirstchristmas #rankinbass #animagic #chillertheatre #theshagstore #puppets

Did you know that Shirley Temple almost made it into a Rankin/Bass Animagic series? She would have finally made it as Dorothy (as seen here with Toto) in The Wizard of Oz. She really wanted to do it and you can read more about it in Rick's book The Arthur Rankin, Jr. Scrapbook: The Birth of Animagic (Miser Bros Press) www.miserbros.com #shirleytemple #thewizardofoz #dorothygale #kansas #lfrankbaum #rankinbass #animagic #puppet #retro #film #television #paulcokerjr #thearthurrankinjrscrapbook #book

Who remembers when Rankin/Bass' Pinocchio made an appearance on Sesame Street? I talk about it in my book, The Arthur Rankin, Jr. Scrapbook: The Birth of Animagic. There were actually a few people from Rankin/Bass that worked on segments for Sesame Street! www.miserbros.com #sesamestreet #rosko #thenewadventuresofpinocchio #rankinbass #jimhenson #sunday
