Roddy McDowell
When you think of the late, great Roddy McDowell, you may not think of
Rankin/Bass Productions, but did you know he has appeared in three of
their productions? His first appearance was in Rankin/Bass' Cricket on
the Hearth and then later in Rankin/Bass' The Return of the King and The
Wind in the Willows.

Robert and I were the same age when we wrote our Rudolph books and are both from Illinois. When my book, The Making of the Rankin/Bass Holiday classic: Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (MISER BROS PRESS) was released in 2001, CBS NEWS did a piece on both of us.
Hess School in Mays Landing, New Jersey enjoys Rankin/Bass over the holidays! 🎅
