LARRY D. MANN

Larry's son Danny pointed this out to me on the internet.  It was on FOX after his father passed in January.

DENNIS MILLER, FOX NEWS CONTRIBUTOR: Say we are 50 better than you, my friend. But it gets cold once in a while. I liked what you said about the Green Bay Packer fans. What are you going to do? It's weather. Get on with it.
O'REILLY: That's right. You got to embrace it.
MILLER: Yes. Billy, I have to say, apropos of the weather, the great Larry Mann (ph) died yesterday. 91 years old. He was the voice of Ucon Cornelius (ph) in my favorite Christmas special "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer." It is apropos he would die during a winter like this, and in commemoration of Larry, I think for the next week we should bounce all bumbles at half-mast.
O'REILLY: You are the only human being in the world who would eulogize Larry Mann.
MILLER: That's my favorite Christmas show. So it means a lot to me. Thank you, Larry, for all the pleasure.

RANKIN/BASS' WILLY McBEAN & HIS MAGIC MACHINE

Larry D. Mann voiced Professor Rasputin Von Rotten in RANKIN/BASS' first 'ANIMAGIC' feature film, which was shot simultaneously with RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER and used most of the same voice actors.

SAM's voice

(Larry D. Mann was the voice of YUKON CORNELIUS and originally the voice of SAM THE SNOWMAN as well)

I had a question about BURL IVES/SAM on my FACEBOOK page. Yes, LARRY D. MANN recorded Sam's parts first in CANADA. I have heard these recordings via Ellie Cowan (voice supervisor BERNARD COWAN's son). SAM doesn't appear in any scenes with the other characters, so it was easy for this change to be made. SAM was described as a NICELY NICELY type character from GUYS AND DOLLS by Romeo Muller...hence the vest with chain watch. The animators may have animated a SAM without BURL's beard and look BUT have never seen photos of this.
