www.cartoonresearch.com Jerry Beck does some Quality cartoon research! The Burl Ives photo featured on his page is from my latest edition of THE ENCHANTED WORLD OF RANKIN/BASS: A PORTFOLIO. When I updated the book a few years back, I changed the photos on the BURL IVES FOREWORD page and this is one of the photos I used. It wasn't in the original editions of the book.

VAN EATON GALLERIES has some of the coolest H-B original art! I bought a GREAT MUSH MOUSE drawing from them that appeared in the HANNA-BARBERA TREASURY book by my pal Jerry Beck!

IT'S A BIRD...IT"S A PLANE...IT'S SUPERMAN!

I am enjoying the newly released DVD box set of the MAX FLEISCHER SUPERMAN Cartoons 1941-1942. They look GREAT in their newly remastered state from the original vault elements! One documentary is good: FIRST FLIGHT: THE FLEISCHER SUPERMAN series with my friends Jerry Beck, Bruce Timm, Dan Riba and Paul Dini....the other doc is not so good. My late animation teacher GORDAN SHEEHAN from COLUMBIA COLLEGE CHICAGO, worked on these and often screened them for my class! Wonderful stuff!

LOONEY TUNES GOLDEN COLLECTION Vol. 6

I picked up the NEW LOONEY TUNES set and LOVE the content and the JERRY BECK book that was attached at BEST BUY.....but the art on the packaging hit an all-time low! It looks like a sixth grader drew the LOONEY TUNES characters on the box and on the discs! Who is running the home video department at WARNER BROTHERS now? They need to use the art by the classic artists at WB!!!! I have this VERY cool vintage CAROON-O-GRAPH sketch board from the 1940's for sale! It is HUGE and it was manufactured in Chicago. GREAT classic art!
