AFLAC did a RANKIN/BASS style RUDOLPH commercial for 2007! Heard from the PR person at the ZOO and I will be doing some morning News shows again this season in the Chicago Area.

BROOKFIELD ZOO December 8th & 9th

Brought books and cds to the ZOO over the weekend for our HOLIDAY MAGIC appearances with the original RUDOLPH and SANTA RANKIN/BASS Animagic figures! This will be a GREAT event! We will be at BORDERS BOOKS & MUSIC on those dates too at Noon with SANTA & RUDOLPH. Come say hello!

MOUSE ON THE MAYFLOWER collector's DVD-R

With THANKSGIVING coming up....my MOUSE ON THE MAYFLOWER DVD-R has been a BIG hit! I like watching it too! I especially like the RARE McDonald's presentation. It has two Holiday FESTIVAL OF FAMILY CLASSICS, some interviews I did and some classic CHRISTMAS shorts! E-mail: Rickgoldsc@aol.com

BORDERS BOOKS & MUSIC Schaumburg, IL

We are looking at Saturday December 1st 6pm for our rescheduled STARVING ARTISTS date. As soon as it is confirmed, I will post it. THANKS!

BORDERS BOOKS & MUSIC Schaumburg, IL

Looks like our date to play this Saturday Nov. 10th is being changed. Turns out BOB STROUD and 8 oldies bands were scheduled for the date by BORDERS' corporate office. I will post our NEW date shortly. I will be there for sure December 8 and 9th at Noon and perhaps we will also play music on those dates as well. Sorry for the late notice.

RUDOLPH & CLARICE arrive at BUILD-A-BEAR workshop stores November 8th!

SPECIAL EDITION?

Who will Re-buy this? What is DELUXE about this? NEW WAVE ENTERTAINMENT contacting me about adding some special extras to this DVD. When I asked for compensation, I never heard from them again. Looks like WARNER BROTHERS is releasing this DVD in February, 2008 with NO EXTRA content from RANKIN/BASS. They added three stop-motion type shorts that are NOT even RANKIN/BASS. They could have added a nice RANKIN/BASS Documentary like THE YEAR WITHOUT A SANTA CLAUS has or a still gallery...or something that fans would want to repurchase this. Look at this cover? The first cover was so much better and represented the show much better. This is what happens when a show like this ends up in the wrong hands.

Maddy was a winner in the costume contest! I could have never put this party together without the help of my wonderful girlfriend Jo! She had enough food for four parties and she put up with my party ignorance and my absence during the long band sessions.

THE STARVING ARTISTS November 10th

Just a reminder that THE STARVING ARTISTS will be performing live at the Schaumburg, IL BORDERS BOOKS & MUSIC (Directly across from WOODFIELD MALL on Golf Rd.) Saturday November 10th at 6pm. We will be signing CDs and I will have THE MAKING OF THE RANKIN/BASS HOLIDAY CLASSIC: RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER to sign too! Come out and say hello!

ROBERT GOULET dies at age 73

Robert Goulet passed away today at age 73. He sung the RANKIN/BASS Theme song to their feature film THE DAYDREAMER (1966). He also made a recent appearance in my friend Mike Alred's film a few years back. Mr. Goulet will be missed.

SPECIAL EDITION DVD at TARGET

I saw the SPECIAL EDITION DVD of THE YEAR WITHOUT A SANTA CLAUS at TARGET the other night for $14.99. That appears to be the cheapest price around. I was really happy with the way the RANKIN/BASS Documentary turned out and I hope ABC FAMILY choses to air it this season!
