Off to see the WIZARD WORLD CON in the AM!

This CHICAGO con may be one of the biggest RANKIN/BASS events thus far! My promo postcards came back from the printer today...I am very happy with them. We will give these out to visitors of the TIME & SPACE TOYS tables. KEVIN at TIME & SPACE brought a nice lit case for the ANIMAGIC figures of RUDOLPH & SANTA and made a throne for the live SANTA CLAUS to sit in for the DIGITAL PICS that can be taken. If you get your picture taken with SANTA and the two classic puppets, you get a $10 off coupon for any other merchandise at the tables. There will also be two professional girl models at the booth. One will be in a girl elf costume from RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER! Hope to meet many die hard fans over the three day period and I will post pictures from the event when I return home! WGN NEWS may be covering the event and they have already written about it on-line and in the CHICAGO TRIBUNE REDEYE newspaper.

I will now also be at the WIZARD WORLD CONVENTION at the DONALD H. STEPHENS CONVENTION center on FRIDAY AUG. 4th! Alot of planning has gone into this event and along with a LIVE SANTA CLAUS (At the TIME & SPACE TOYS tables)...a girl model elf will also be there with me! I am bringing alot of RARE stuff to sell there as well. Hope to see you there! In between all this planning, I have also been assisting with a book on SNOWMEN, that will feature RANKIN/BASS' FROSTY and SAM THE SNOWMAN too!

WIZARD WORLD CONVENTION AUGUST 5th and 6th!

It does appear that I will be at the WIZARD WORLD CONVENTION both weekend days entertaining RANKIN/BASS fans and signing books and CDs at the TIME & SPACE TOYS tables at the front of the covention at the ROSEMONT CONVENTION CENTER. I will be bringing some very RARE clips on video and showing them during the course of the con. Come out and ask questions and overindulge in the world of RANKIN/BASS and have your picture taken with SANTA CLAUS and take photos of the original ANIMAGIC figures of RUDOLPH & SANTA CLAUS from RANKIN/BASS' RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER (1964). This is a RARE opportunity...they have not been seen in public since their television debut! They are also newly restored by www.screen-novelties.com and I can't wait to see them myself. EARLY ANIMAGIC!

!!!!!!!!ANIMAGIC!!!!!! This is one of my favorite subjects! Early RANKIN/BASS ANIMAGIC! The designs were partly TONY PETERS (A young R/B New York Animator on staff), part ARTHUR RANKIN, JR. and part JAPANESE ANIMAGIC technician designers like KYOTO KITA. and PINCHAN! These were Pre-Paul Coker, Jr. and post the wonderful designs of UPA and 1950's commercial art design. RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER, THE NEW ADVENTURES OF PINOCCHIO and WILLY McBEAN & HIS MAGIC MACHINE are all classic examples of the early RANKIN/BASS 'ANIMAGIC.' I have the Re-Mastered WILLY McBEAN that was intended for DVD release and it is pure RANKIN/BASS Eye candy. Come out and see 'ANIMAGIC' in person at the CHICAGO WIZARD WORLD CON at the TIME & SPACE TOYS booth!

NEW CD! #3 from GIN BLOSSOMS will be available AUGUST 8th! As you may know, GIN BLOSSOMS are like brothers to me. They were gracious enough to appear on my CD and they are quite frankly, a GREAT Rock band! It took about 10 years for their 3rd CD to be released. I have heard the tracks over the past few years both in ROBIN's studio and at their live shows BUT that didn't prepare me for the polished CD release that JOHN HAMPTON assisted with. SHAG visits THE ENCHANTED WORLD OF R/B (CHICAGO)!

SHAG (AKA JOSH AGLE) paid a visit to me and THE ENCHANTED WORLD OF RANKIN/BASS with his brother Piet (Who also works www.shagmart.com) while he was in CHICAGO doing a Gallery show 07-16-06. RUDOLPH & SANTA are restored and displayed at the SAN DIEGO COMICON right now! They are at the TIME & SPACE TOYS booth with owner KEVIN KREISS! My book is also available at the booth. They will make their way to CHICAGO in a few weeks as will all the wonderful RANKIN/BASS Products that are offered at WWW.TIMEANDSPACETOYS.COM. RANKIN/BASS Symphony!

MUSIC has always been a HUGE part of the... RANKIN/BASS Classic Holiday TV Specials and Films! The songs of JULES BASS & MAURY LAWS are remembered by many and special to all!
In Anticipation of the RANKIN/BASS Symphony written by MAURY LAWS and to tour Christmas 2007, I dug out this old sheet music. Who could forget that scary theme music when the BUMBLE shows his ugly face?! The design to this sheet music is very unique and effective. I do list RARE stuff on EBAY under seller ANIMAGIC1 and MISER BROS on EBAY from time to time. I am pictured above with BOB THOMPSON, Producer of the RANKIN/BASS Symphony project. 3rd Printing?

THE ENCHANTED WORLD OF RANKIN/BASS: A PORTFOLIO (3rd Printing?)

Here are some of the original concepts for the cover of my first book. The artwork was of course done by RANKIN/BASS legend PAUL COKER, Jr. and we changed the background to blue. Many have asked for a 3rd printing of my first book preferably in hardcover! I would definitely like to see this happen. I have been so busy with my music projects, etc. that I haven't been able to seek out a publisher for this endeavor. The book is done and it has been a proven seller. If any publishers are interested, just drop us a line. MERRY CHRISTMAS in JULY!

RARE ABOMINABLE pic!

Here is a RARE pic of the BUMBLE that shows him holding a Mini-version of the RUDOLPH ANIMAGIC figure. I Didn't have this picture when my MAKING OF RUDOLPH book was published a few years back. We used this image for a RARE postcard that was given away as a PREMIUM at Chicago's WIZARD WORLD CON in 2002. This year's EXCLUSIVE card will feature the restored SANTA & RUDOLPH!

RARE pics from the set of THE BERMUDA DEPTHS!

THE BERMUDA DEPTHS (1977) is a cult classic from the RANKIN/BASS catalog of live-action films ARTHUR RANKIN and JULES BASS made for ABC-TV. It starred BURL IVES, CARL WEATHERS, CONNIE SELECA and MAURY LAWS even made a Rare screen appearance. It was filmed in BERMUDA where ARTHUR RANKIN still resides most of the time and his son TODD (Pictured with girl in Bikini) even did some stunt doubling for the film in the swim sequences. The haunting theme song from the film "Jenny" is well remembered and was even released as a single. We get tons of requests for this film on DVD at www.rankinbass.com from all over the world! RUDOLPH GETS AN UPDATE!

RUDOLPH is being restored for the CONS and actually had Red clay stuck in his nose from the kids of ARTHUR RANKIN's secretary. Kids were actually playing with this Television icon around Christmas each year. RUDOLPH will have a nice shiny bulb as a replacement very soon!
