HALLOWEEN was alot of fun in Oak Lawn, IL! We had many, many trick-or-treaters because the weather was beautiful! They kept coming until 9pm. Ironically, we hear that legendary FAMOUS MONSTERS OF FILMLAND Editor isn't doing well unfortunately. This was always a GREAT special to watch during the holidays! Like I said, it has that warmth we have grown to love in the RANKIN/BASS specials. Bill Jackson is an original and you could tell this project was a labor of love. A GREAT way to use his puppet characters in a Holiday special!
BAT-MANGA! The Secret History of Batman in Japan
I picked up the NEW Chip Kidd and Geoff Spear book BAT-MANGA! today and have to say I am really enjoying it! It has many comic strips that are a combination of SPEED RACER art and art based on the BATMAN TV Series starring ADAM WEST and BURT WARD. There are also alot of GREAT pics of merchandise, that was based on the classic TV series and some very nice painted art that looks like CARMINE INFANTINO and MURPHY ANDERSON art! Very cool book! THANKS to Chris Wolfson for reminding me about this one!

BUSY DAY!
HALLOWEEN is flying in soon! Spent alot of the day working on getting THE ENCHANTED WORLD OF RANKIN/BASS: A PORTFOLIO uploaded to SPINDLE on AMAZON.COM! It will be available soon! Picked up the new SNOW PATROL CD 'A HUNDRED MILLION SUNS' which is GREAT! Love SNOW PATROL and saw them a few years ago at LOLLAPALOOZA. Also picked up the new LITTLE RASCALS DVD set! Love the packaging! I am excited to announce....we will be offering Bill Jackson's 'A GIFT FOR GRANNY' on DVD! Talked with Bill about it today! It is a GREAT Christmas TV special shown in Chicago with his characters and very enjoyable in the same way RANKIN/BASS specials are! Can't wait!

This very cool magazine even pre-dates my first book. It was the first article I wrote about RANKIN/BASS and their classic film MAD MONSTER PARTY (1967). Wish BASIL GOGOS was still doing magazine covers like this! He is the BEST Monster artist! Basil did a drawing for my first book BUT it came a bit late and missed the printing.MUSIC VIDEO
My sister STACEY is going to direct a video of my song "You Can See It In My Eyes," which we will post on YOU TUBE and elsewhere. She is in the business of directing band videos and has done alot of work for PITCHFORK. Check her LINK in the right hand column of my blog.
