I dug out some of my Jack Davis Lobby card display posters tonight! I saw THE RUSSIANS ARE COMING! THE RUSSIANS ARE COMING! late last night on ME TV's THIS! channel last night.
One of my favorites of Jack's entire career!

Getting ready to watch the BLU RAY edition of HOW THE WEST WAS WON... Beautiful book packaging on this and I love how they created a CURVED SCREEN SMILEBOX SIMULATION version of the film as well as the WIDESCREEN version and included a documentary on CINERAMA. Top notch!
We saw the film last night and most of the reviews I read before were right. I thought the first film was a perfect film in many ways. If you go into this one not expecting it to be as good as or better than the first...you will be alright. Most reviews have given it 2-1/2 to 3 stars and I think that is fair....it doesn't make it a bad film...it is another chapter in the world of IRON MAN. The film probably would have been better, if it focused on the heart and relationship between Tony Stark and Pepper Potts and was less crowded BUT Tony and Pepper are still the likeable, well played characters in this one, with a bit too much going on. I like that they brought even more things into it from the original comic books such as Happy Hogan, Stark's suitcase complete with costume and his race driving skills. Director Favreau (ELF, SWINGERS) also attempted to bring in some heart with Tony's relationship with his departed father and the fact that Tony wasn't well during most of the film. The first film had such a strong villian base and several fun elements that this film was missing, that the comparison is not a good one BUT like I said, another chapter and they know what to shoot for in 3.
Josh and I picked up the terrific NEW STP single today "Between the lines" at FYE....CD due out May 25th. The DELUXE edition will feature three live songs from the Chicago show we went to at the RIVIERA, including both songs from the single! VH-1 also filmed the RIVIERA show and will air it May 21st at 11pm! We met up with the drummer and bass player after the show...will be cool to see it on TV. STP will be on LETTERMAN CBS May 19th and JIMMY KIMMEL May 25th! TARGET will also have a CD/DVD version of the new CD!

BETTY WHITE NIGHTS

Melissa Forman from THE LITE is hosting BETTY WHITE NIGHTS on ME TV for the next two weeks! She will be showing classic BETTY WHITE episodes from THE MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW. My personal favorite is the Christmas episode in the 5th season that features Betty!

We were in the musical zone tonight...
