KFC blunder
I have one word for the most recent KFC Promotion "Dumb." KFC and apparently OPRAH WINFREY really know how to bring out the worst in people and commit a major promotional blunder. GREEDY people were taking advantage of this FREE FOOD offer and copying coupons, clogging up drive thru windows and causing traffic jams and ruining the offer for the normal people that wanted to try their grilled chicken, with their one free coupon. Josh and I went there today and now they are offering RAIN CHECKS that they will mail to your home. For the longest time, my daughter Sara (Who is going to be a veterinarian), would not let us step foot in a KFC for their inhumane treatment of the chickens. Now they make it known that they are using PURDUE Chicken in their commercials BUT for years they were not. Crazy!| Reactions: |

PUNCH & JUDY
Another pic from the RARE RANKIN/BASS PUNCH & JUDY project starring JERRY LEWIS and CAROL BURNETT. JERRY LEWIS was in ST. CHARLES, IL tonight at the ARCADA THEATER (Built in 1926 for Vaudville)! Wish I would have known about it ahead of time. I saw JERRY at the Oakbrook DRURY LANE THEATER about 10 years ago or so.

PUNCH & JUDY
From my book THE MAKING OF THE RANKIN/BASS HOLIDAY CLASSIC: RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER. PUNCH & JUDY was to star the talents of JERRY LEWIS and CAROL BURNETT BUT it was never produced. A few song demos exist and are on THE DAYDREAMER soundtrack CD.

MAURY LAWS
My good friend MAURY LAWS and DONNER! RANKIN/BASS TV Specials and films would not be the same without MAURY's sensational music! His Holiday music makes the holidays bouncy and fun! This pic is from THE ENCHANTED WORLD OF RANKIN/BASS: A PORTFOLIO. Maury will be participating in the new MAD MONSTER PARTY Documentary by SPARKHILL for the new LION'S GATE DELUXE DVD! | Reactions: |

KIDDIE MATINEES
Originally, MAD MONSTER PARTY was released to the KIDDIE MATINEES in 1967. It became a much more popular title when it ran on television in the early 1970's. It eventually was shown on TNT, AMERICAN MOVIE CLASSICS and now the re-mastered print on DVD. It was not filmed in WIDE-SCREEN and therefore a WIDE-SCREEN print does not exist. | Reactions: |

LEN KOROBKIN
This is my pal LEN KOROBKIN. He wrote the script to the RANKIN/BASS feature film and wrote a few of the scripts for their early series as well. Len wrote the majority of the script and HARVEY KURTZMAN was brought in later to add some gags and various bits of MAD humor. I met Len's son at the San Diego Comicon a while back and Len went on to practice law in Berverly Hills.| Reactions: |
