RANKIN/BASS' THE STINGIEST MAN IN TOWN

Another VARIETY ad from Romeo Muller's scrapbook. This special came out on DVD last year in the red box set.
Here is Jack Davis' first PLAYBOY cartoon for Hef. Ron Murphy recently gave it to me on a PLAYBOY greeting card.
Here is an unpublished PAUL COKER RANKIN/BASS drawing from an unproduced special! Paul designed so many characters for RANKIN/BASS! As I look at this Snow woman...it is pouring rain here in Chicago!!!!

Spineless Governor

I rarely post anything about politicians,,, Why? I don't like them. In Illinois, we are always reading abouts scandals, corruption and greed = Politician. Reading through today's TRIBUNE/Scandals, I see a mayor in Bolingbrook was living the high life on cash from donors! Our new governor, who never would have been elected to the position (You have to have the looks and charisma these days), has been threatening to clean up a corrupt UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS board and when it came time to take action....nothing. The TRIBUNE'S Editorial starts out GOVERNOR, GROW A SPINE "He said he's leaving Montgomery and Carroll on the U. of I. board. With that, Quinn again proved that the people of Illinois cannot rely on him for decisive leadership." CRAZY stuff! Yuch!

RANKIN/BASS' THE BUSHIDO BLADE

The late, great ROMEO MULLER saved this in his RANKIN/BASS scrapbook!

JET: SHAKA ROCK

Another NEW release comes from one of my favorite bands...JET! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! This is their third CD and it is a good one. They have a GREAT classic rock sound BUT mix it up quite a bit and always make it interesting. Love the new song SEVENTEEN....I am sure THE STARVING ARTISTS will be playing that one. LA DI DA is also cool! BEST BUY also has this one on sale for $7.99!

CHEAP TRICK: SGT. PEPPER LIVE

This came out today on CD and DVD! BEST BUY has each for $7.99 each! All I can say is SWEET MEAT! Well worth picking up and Geoff Emerick Co-Produced and mixed the project and he mixed the original SGT. PEPPER LP for THE BEATLES!

THE STARVING ARTISTS

I saw my Ortho Doctor yesterday and he gave me a new wrist brace that allows me to hold a pick and strum the guitar with limited mobility. I am not up to typing on a computer for long periods of time and that is why I have someone else typing this!

DENNIS ROCKS!

BATCYCLE

The large scale HOT WHEELS BAT CYCLE arrives and boy is it cool! Highly detailed!

SHAG DISNEYLAND

These are the cool SHAG MOUSE EARS I was talking about last week!

DICK SHAWN

Dick Shawn, the voice of the Snow Miser in RANKIN/BASS' THE YEAR WITHOUT A SANTA CLAUS

ELINOR DONAHUE

Beautiful Elinor Donahue when she was part of the first season cast of THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW. I always liked her on FATHER KNOWS BEST and years later on THE ODD COUPLE as well!

THE HONEYMOONERS

Channel 32 was where I learned of the HONEYMOONERS and since that time I have probably watched each classic 39 episode 200 times! My son Josh loves THE HONEYMOONERS too and watches them on ME TV (He even loves the LOST episodes). I became friends with the late, great Art Carney in his later years and have two GREAT answering machine messages from him saved with comments on each of my books! ART was in THE LEPRECHAUN'S CHRISTMAS GOLD for RANKIN/BASS!

HANNA-BARBERA'S the MAGILLA GORILLA show

I do remember watching the MAGILLA GORILLA show on Channel 32 along with THE BANANA SPLITS show! Channel 32 was the BEST place for cartoons and classic TV series!

RANKIN/BASS' WILLY McBEAN & HIS MAGIC MACHINE in ANIMAGIC! (1965)

RANKIN/BASS' THE DAYDREAMER

I don't remember THE DAYDREAMER on Frazier Thomas' FAMILY CLASSICS BUT I always watched and loved FAMILY CLASSICS! I do remember WGN-TV airing RANKIN/BASS' FESTIVAL OF FAMILY CLASSICS right after the movies.
