The 1st perfect Rankin/Bass blu ray arrives!

Wow! 🎃 It took me all of Tuesday night to go through everything 😁 It sure beats many of the horrendous Rankin/Bass blu rays and dvds released in recent years (with a few exceptions: The Daydreamer, The Year Without a Santa Claus).  It literally takes hours to go through the extras! If you were lucky enough to get a deluxe package, you tripled your investment already 😁 I forgot I did an introduction for the wonderful "It" (King Kong) bonus feature!  You get to the Easter egg from the main menu by navigating to the left...and clicking on Matt Pott's skull head!  The film looks great and Francesca's "Yeah!" at the end of the film, returns in a big way!  I forgot to talk about Frank Frazetta's contributions in the commentary, but I do talk about it in my book.  Love that they put his half sheet poster design on the poster and the disc. The Rankin/Bass trailer gallery was longer than what I was expecting and very cool (I have a few more we could have added)!  The still gallery now has music and moves automatically, which is great! So Thankful to have been part of this and glad Justin Beahm worked his magic on my parts 😆  Now, on to do more perfect Rankin/Bass Production blu rays!!!!! With the release of the NEW Umbrella blu ray of Rankin/Bass' Mad Monster Party, it has caused a run on my book about the film! I have more on order and you can still order (it will guarantee a copy), but will take about 7-10 days 🎃 #Madmonsterparty

I got the word today that the Mad Monster Party blu ray deluxe materials just arrived.   I will be getting mine shortly.  The individual Blu Ray orders have already been shipping.  In my opinion, this is the BEST Rankin/Bass blu ray release to date!

 

June 2nd, 2023 Rankin/Bass' Mad Monster Party blu ray

     Just to clearify, the NEW Rankin/Bass' Mad Monster Party Umbrella blu ray release out June 2nd, is a far superior release to the Lionsgate issue from several years back.  We made several upgrades to the film print and you can now watch In it's original aspect ratio (We even added back Fracesca's YEAH! at the end of the movie).  It does include all of the extras from the Lionsgate release, plus more...including a Tad Mochinaga animated appearance of IT (King Kong) on a TV show (Easter egg).  The Deluxe version with posters, comic book, pins, etc. Sold out a few weeks ago.  It is an Australian release, but it is all region, so can be watched on any blu ray player.  I think this will be the new gold standard for Rankin/Bass blu ray releases going forward. - Rick Goldschmidt
