TOPPER or WADDLES?

I have never seen RANKIN/BASS' SANTA CLAUS IS COMIN' TO TOWN when the Penguin wasn't named TOPPER. I also have Arthur Rankin's original shooting script and he is named TOPPER in it BUT based on the amount of e-mails I have received over the years...I do believe they over dubbed the name WADDLES for a few years. It may have been some sort of legal issue with the name TOPPER, which was also the name of a very famous radio, film and TV character. I know Leo G. Carroll played him in one of those versions. Whatever the reason, I am glad it is now back to the original.
