Hal Blaine plays "Clobber" in this funny pilot written by Ruth Brooks Flippen (One of my favorite television writers) and Hal liked it when I called him "Clobber"! Jan played a big role in assembling what became known as the Wrecking Crew and Hal was one of his favs! Elizabeth Montgomery makes a Samantha Cameo in here, because her Husband Produced it.  Ruth wrote the Christmas episodes for That Girl and The Mary Tyler Moore shows among other things.

Hal Blaine R.I.P.

Hal Blaine - loving father of Michelle Blaine; grandfather of Anthony, Josh, Aaron, Whitney, Tempest, Ever and Lyryk; and inspiration to countless friends, fans and musicians - has passed on today, March 11th, 2019 at the age of 90. May he rest forever on 2 and 4. The family appreciates your outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Hal from around the world, and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning. No further details will be released at this time.

Dragon Con

I just got asked to do a 6th Panel at Dragon Con by the Fantasy director there :) Not sure if I will be able to handle that many panels at one show yet, but we will see. All I hear are good things and this is going to be a significant year for Rankin/Bass and can talk more about it by then! #dragoncon #rankinbass #panels

Another grand slam out of the ballpark on Spring ahead Sunday at TOYZ N' COSPLAY CON in Oak Lawn!

 The advertising really paid off for Donna (Promoter of this show) and a large crowd attended!   I met so many local Rankin/Bass fans who have been to some of my other shows and they all have their DVRs set for April 7th at 9 pm on ME TV!   

 

I thought this Mickey Costume was great!

 The new venue was tremendous, as was the case with GEEKZ CON too!  Both shows are getting better each time!

 After setting up, we moved to the front of the show to greet the people as they came in!

Another blu ray snafu!

I picked these up at Wal-mart tonight (after my event) and returning them all tomorrow! Universal is batting 1000 on their blu ray releases! So bad, I don't know where to start. This is the syndicated edited version, missing so many parts I couldn't list them all. Fades to solid black, credits edited, songs edited, etc. So careless, I have no idea how this was issued. As the Rankin/Bass historian/biographer, I wanted to make sure fans are aware and don't waste $. #easter #herecomespetercottontail #rankinbass The last HI DEF DVD, which was perfect, clocks in at 51 minutes. This blu ray is clocking in just over 42 minutes. As Evil Irontail says to Peter, "Careless, careless."

Paul Coker, Jr.

 I just had a nice long chat with Paul Coker, Jr. (Designer of most of the Rankin/Bass TV Specials). I was a bit worried about him, as his phone was out of service for a while (What a relief!). I had to let him know about several projects and he told me he absolutely loved our last book and is looking forward to the new one. #paulcokerjr #rankinbass #madmagazine
