LOLLA turns 20!
My kids had a good time....and that is the important thing! I have since calmed down :) I have to say though...I have attended several LOLLAPALOOZAS in the past and this was the most disorganized of the bunch! FRONT GATE TICKETS promised me that my vouchers for Collectible badges (Which I paid extra for..PLUS shipping) was good. We get to the park and not one employee of ten knew what a collectible, 3-d badge was or where I could get them. I never did get them BUT I promise I will get my $ back. The main South stage already had some mud and moisture before the two serious storms blew through later. THE CARS were very good! The South stage had a stench that smelled like the RHINO/ELEPHANT house at BROOKFIELD ZOO....I don't think the crowd pot smell helped it either. I can imagine what it smelled like after the two rains! Perry Farrell kind of let us down this year...
The area I am standing on was completly flooded a few hours later! Lots of FOO!

PARKING in CHICAGO!
We have the highest gas price in the country (With no explanation). The parking in the CHICAGO city garages has gone up 300% in the last twenty years...also with no explanation. It was $3.25, when I was a COLUMBIA COLLEGE student. This has to hurt city businesses and the economy as a whole. The Grant Park garage wasn't very full during LOLLAPALOOZA...and it is not hard to see why. Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Governor Pat Quinn should be ashamed of themselves. They say they want to bring business back to Chicago....is this the way? This all started with Mayor Richard M. Daley.

It is LUCY's Birthday!
I was lucky enough to pick this up at WIZARD WORLD years ago... ME TV has her on all weekend in Chicago BUT if you can, pick up the complete series on DVD. The remastered prints blow away what they show on ME TV, TV LAND or any other channel and you can watch episodes in the later seasons with the original open/closes and commercial billboards. My late, great friend BOB McFADDEN was the voice of FRANKENBERRY and he even did a voice mail message for me as FRANKENBERRY! We are adding a FRANKENBERRY commercial at the end of the SOAKY DVD!
