My late friend Bob McFadden was the voice of Jingle Bells! In fact, he did a voice mail message for me as the character. Bob and I connected just after my first book, The Enchanted World of Rankin/Bass: A Portfolio was released. He knew he was ill and wanted someone to document his career and sent me copies of everything. Bob had a wonderful career and voiced so many of my favorites including Milton the Monster, Cool McCool, Frankenberry, Baron Von Frankenstein in Rankin/Bass' Mad, Mad, Mad Monsters and more! Fun Halloween Rankin/Bass Productions fact: My late friend Bob McFadden was the voice of the Baron in the ABC Saturday superstar movie Rankin/Bass' Mad, Mad, Mad Monsters (1972). Bob was also the voice of Frankenberry and Milton the Monster (he recorded voice mail messages for me as both). He also recorded a novelty record of The Mummy with poet Rod McKuen (as dor) which featured an image of The Hammer Mummy on the sleeve and another single with called Dracula cha-cha, The Brides of Dracula on the sleeve 🎃 #rankinbassproductions #bobmcfadden #rodmckuen #HALLOWEEN

Rankin/Bass' Mad, Mad, Mad Monsters. My late friend Bob McFadden did the voice of Baron Von Frankenstein and recorded a voice mail message for me as Baron. He was also the voice of Frankenberry, Milton the Monster, Fearless fly, Lovable Truly, Cool McCool, Jingle Bells in the Year without a Santa Claus, Snarf in Thundercats and many others!

I watched this tonight. My late friends Bob McFadden and Bradley Bolke did voices. Great soundtrack! The animation and lettering is the same as TOM OF T.H.U.M.B., done at the same time. The Easter egg on the dvd is the moon under the Big Ben clock. #mothergoose

Rankin/Bass' The Wacky World of Mother Goose to air on TCM this Thursday at 6:15 PM Eastern

I see Rankin/Bass' The Wacky World of Mother Goose will be on this Thursday on TCM at 6:15 pm (I believe that is Eastern time). They usually show this film in the wee hours of the morning, so this is a rare evening showing. Not their best film, but it is interesting for many reasons and it has a pretty good musical soundtrack. The Macy's Thanksgiving day parade Linus the Lion-hearted episode

Billy bird continues to try to blow up Linus' balloon by mouth as Linus tests his loyalty.  Linus ultimately blows it up with an air cannister.  Forgot how many voices my late friend Bob McFadden did in the series!

JINGLE BELLS appeared in a few RANKIN/BASS specials/films over the years. Bob McFadden was the voice of JINGLE BELLS and did an answering machine message for me as JINGLE BELLS, before he passed. He also did answering machine messages for me of MILTON THE MONSTER, COOL McCOOL, FRANKENBERRY and BORIS KARLOFF from MAD, MAD, MAD MONSTERS!
