Isn't it Cozy here! 🦇 Although we briefly touched on it in our blu ray commentary on The Daydreamer, there is a connection between The Munsters and Rankin/Bass Productions. After directing 27 episodes of The Munsters, Rankin/Bass hired Ezra Stone to "Stage the live-action sequences" in this film. Do you remember Herman and Grandpa building Eddie's Go cart and all of the funny fast motion sequences after? That same fast motion technique is used by Ezra throughout The Daydreamer with Jack Gilford, Ray Bolger, etc. #themunsters #ezrastone #Rankinbassproductions #thedaydreamer

This is an early drawing by my late pal, and Rankin/Bass designer, Antony Peters. He did it before Rudolph (which he designed). It is in the collection of Rankin/Bass writer Len Korobkin (Mad Monster Party, Willy McBean and his magic machine, etc). You can easily see how Tony's design for Santa was captured in Animagic in 1964, and then all the later versions of Santa were designed by my dear friend Paul Coker, Jr..
