RANKIN/BASS' RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER 50th Anniversary 2014 broadcast!
http://www.cbs.com/feedback Another thing we could request CBS do, is restore RANKIN/BASS' RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER for the 50th Anniversary (with the scenes not seen on network television since 1964) and add a MAKING OF Documentary with the special's creators...most of which are still with us to see the 50th airing. I would be happy to help!
Some people have asked on social media, What is missing? I could write a book about it (I did: THE MAKING OF THE RANKIN/BASS HOLIDAY CLASSIC: RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER) www.miserbros.com The special CBS currently airs has sound warbles, poorly edited screen jumps, etc. etc. etc. I would love to assist them with properly restoring the special and treating the classic in a classic way.
The late Bernard Cowan's (The vocal supervisor on the special) son Ellie, has many RARE elements he wants to share, including audio of the original SAM THE SNOWMAN (Larry D. Mann who was the voice of YUKON CORNELIUS) before Burl Ives entered the special and many RARE photographs. This 50th Anniversary could be sensational!
RANKIN/BASS' FROSTY'S WINTER WONDERLAND
This is the special that CBS should be airing with RANKIN/BASS' FROSTY THE SNOWMAN...the Actual sequel produced by RANKIN/BASS called FROSTY'S WINTER WONDERLAND and not the unwatchable FROSTY RETURNS. I think they were mislead many years ago and think they are airing the actual sequel. I remember Arthur saying he told the people that made it "No comment" and then he said "It is like taking the gloves off Mickey Mouse"
I think fans should contact CBS through their website and tell them they are showing the wrong special and to contact WARNER BROS for the correct one! www.cbs.com
