Family Affair
I will get my friend Kathy Garver to sign the lunchbox next time I see her! Lisa's favorite show was Family Affair when she was small and sold telephone books with her mother to buy a Mrs. Beasley doll!
I am returning to The Bill & Wendy Show on WGN Radio April 17th at 11:35 AM and taping The Bill Alexander radio show next Tuesday!

This Sunday at 9 pm! Me TV is running all sorts of commercials now for the Premiere. There was one I was in with Lisa and I in the scene I came up with. This is one that ran tonight!
Tad Mochinaga
Orders have started to pick up...lots of publicity swirling now! I got
my second book order from Japan for the dear Tad Mochinaga family! Tad
was the head Animagic animator for Rankin/Bass on the early
productions, including Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, The New
Adventures of Pinocchio, Willy McBean and his magic machine, The
Daydreamer, etc. I talk about some of the Animagic figures he saved in
his collection in my new book celebrating Frosty the Snowman's 50th!
You can read about some in our book The
Making of Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town and The Daydreamer too! I talk
about items in Collector's Call that came directly from Tad and his
staff from Mad Monster Party in my collection! I can tell this is
going to be a very busy year for me and The Enchanted World of
Rankin/Bass! #tadmochinaga #animagic #japan #rankinbass #history
Lisa did a ton of press Monday for the show! I did a little too! Here is her Tuesday Itinery
One full day of PR down, three more to go.

Still thinking about Maury!
Still
remembering the great Maury Laws! Going through some of my ring
binders and old pictures and gave a few quotes for the Variety obit.
What a great guy! #musicalsupervisor #conductor #composer #maurylaws #rankinbass

Me TV's COLLECTOR'S CALL One Hour Premiere in one week!
A
week from tonight, I will be at an event for the premiere! Finally,
one week until Me TV airs the one hour Premiere at 9 pm Central time
(our episode airs at 9:30 pm). My mom just saw the commercial during
The Monkees. #metv #collectorscall #lisawhelchel #rankinbass #rickgoldschmidtcollection #quakecollectibles #batman #tvguide #captainaction #mego #martinandlewis #history #fun #popculture. Collector's Call Listing from Me TV site: 9:30pm Collector's Call
NOSTALGIC TOYS AND ADVERTISING - "Designer, author and artist, Rick Goldschmidt loved the toys of his youth so much, that as he grew older, he didn’t give them away, but rather bought more as his budget allowed. And Rick has a collection that now literally covers every surface and wall of his entire house. Rick is joined by his son, Josh who is a collector himself, as he shows Lisa parts of his collection including some original Rankin Bass relics, Mego dolls, a limited edition coloring book given to children on the set of “The Dick Van Dyke Show” and a nearly complete set of Captain Action toys and displays. And we’ve brought along David Gutterman, owners of Quake Collectibles to appraise Rick’s collection and perhaps make a trade with a vintage Kellogg’s lunchbox from his own collection."
