Josh and I were out and about today biking, playing baseball, etc. Just got NEWS that I may be working on a RANKIN/BASS Christmas DR. PHIL SHOW! We picked up JACK FROST and the new WB CHRISTMAS DVD set at TARGET today...I will post a review soon. JOSH REALLY liked the packaging on JACK FROST because it had the RANKIN/BASS Name and logo on it and on the side of the package!

If you don't have this soundtrack CD from PERCEPTO RECORDS, you may want to pick it up! I understand it may not be available from PERCEPTO anymore BUT you might find it on EBAY. I had the pleasure of writing the booklet and asking MAURY LAWS to dig out those original masters! GREAT music for HALLOWEEN!

The LOONEY TUNES GOLDEN COLLECTION Vol. 6 is due out next Tuesday and my pal JERRY BECK always lends a hand to these Great sets! Wish the box art was like the classic cartoons on the discs BUT oh well.... Set 6 will include one of my favorites....ROCKET-BYE BABY!

MAD MONSTER PARTY Frazetta color comp

Here is a color painting legendary artist FRANK FRAZETTA did for MAD MONSTER PARTY. Jack Davis did a similar black and white drawing for the film when it was known as THE MONSTER MOVIE. Frank's art ended up on the one-sheet and movie ads in black and white...this was found years later.

This is your MAD MONSTER PARTY headquarters!

As you may know, MMP is one of my favorite RANKIN/BASS PRODUCTIONS and this is definitely the time of year for it! My book, THE ENCHANTED WORLD OF RANKIN/BASS: A PORTFOLIO has a fairly large chapter on the film and I wrote the booklets for the DVD and CD soundtrack. I will be posting lots more on the film soon! I am lisiting my DOCTOR DOLITTLE collection on EBAY under seller ANIMAGC1. This stuff would look nice if displayed in a Vet's office...beautiful artwork was used to promote the feature film! The doll in the box with Polynesia is mint sealed!

1966 BATMAN painting

The 1966 BATMAN TV series painting by Leslie Thomas for the episode "The Ring Of Wax" showed up last week and I rearranged some of my 1966 BATMAN collection to display it. It is huge!

We always enjoy Walt Disney's THE ADVENTURES OF "Ichabod & Mr. Toad" this time of year!

KEANE : Perfect Symmetry

At first listen, I did not like the techno pop/dance aspects of KEANE's newly released CD PERFECT SYMMETRY (Their 3rd CD) BUT on second and third listens, it has really grown on me! They are by far one of my favorite bands and no one puts emotion into vocals like Tom does. My favorite tracks are "Again and Again" and "The Lovers Are Losing."

HAMMER DVD set : ICONS OF HORROR COLLECTION

Another HAMMER DVD set came out today! It is very cool! It has THE CURSE OF THE MUMMY'S TOMB, SCREAM OF FEAR, THE TWO FACES OF DR. JEKYLL and THE GORGON. Columbia pictures says HAPPY HALLOWEEN! My mom tells me TARGET has the new JACK FROST DVD and the WB RANKIN/BASS Christmas classics set. I am hearing bad things about both from fans! Apparently, the DVD set has PINOCCHIO'S CHRISTMAS instead of THE LITTLE DRUMMER BOY, BOOK 2 (which was advertised) and WB mistakingly put that horrible TV movie of THE YEAR WITHOUT A SANTA CLAUS in the set instead of the RANKIN/BASS classic TV special, which is pictured on the box!? Does anyone there know what they are doing? It is bad enough they didn't include any cool EXTRAS...they didn't even include the right shows????

3rd Printing of THE ENCHANTED WORLD OF RANKIN/BASS is getting closer!
