June 2nd, 2023 Rankin/Bass' Mad Monster Party blu ray
Just to clearify, the NEW Rankin/Bass' Mad Monster Party Umbrella blu ray release out June 2nd, is a far superior release to the Lionsgate issue from several years back. We made several upgrades to the film print and you can now watch In it's original aspect ratio (We even added back Fracesca's YEAH! at the end of the movie). It does include all of the extras from the Lionsgate release, plus more...including a Tad Mochinaga animated appearance of IT (King Kong) on a TV show (Easter egg). The Deluxe version with posters, comic book, pins, etc. Sold out a few weeks ago. It is an Australian release, but it is all region, so can be watched on any blu ray player. I think this will be the new gold standard for Rankin/Bass blu ray releases going forward. - Rick Goldschmidt

Coming in May, 2023 from Umbrella!
Here is a comparison between the old and new master for the blu ray release of Rankin/Bass' Mad Monster Party! You can watch the film in it's original 1.85:1 format or 1.33:1 previously released version. We also fixed the missing Francesca's "yeah!" at the end of the film. Happy Birthday to Sara Karloff too!
Happy Birthday to my friend Sara Karloff and her late, great father Uncle Boris Karloff! I recently picked up the Karloff Documentary on blu ray, and I was extremely disappointed with it. In about 4 hours time (with the addition of "The Rest of the story"), they spent about 10 seconds covering the fun things in Boris' career: How the Grinch stole Christmas, The Daydreamer and Mad Monster Party. I gave them plenty to do this part of his career justice, but they chose not to. Ironically, I am working on a Mad Monster Party project, where I will bring this up. #Sarakarloff #Boriskarloff #birthday
