We had a pretty musical Saturday night....but I am sick as a dog. Victor couldn't make it because he plays in another band called the BLACK ROSES. Our drum machine is absolutely amazing though. I caught a cold at work and it is becoming an upper respitory thing, which does not help with my asthma. I am so tired right now. www.myspace.com/rgoldschmidt
I just got my CLOTHTIQUE "POSSIBLE DREAMS" RUDOLPH & SANTA statue yesterday from TIME & SPACE TOYS. It looks way better in person! The promo picture from the box actually looks bad. I positioned the beard a bit better too. I think you can trim the beard to get it even more like the original ANIMAGIC figure. Rudolph's nose lights up too. www.timeandspacetoys.com
We got about 3-5 inches of snow this am. It is all Christmasy again around here. It is blowing and drifting right now.
I still have copies of the 2nd RANKIN/BASS ANIMAGIC special for the GENERAL ELECTRIC FANTASY HOUR in full COLOR and it is by far one of my favorites! It is $25 shipped and also includes THE RED BARON plus another surprise. RANKIN/BASS eye candy!
I have a VERY cool VINTAGE CARTOON COMMERCIALS 2 DVD pack for $25 PAYPAL Rickgoldsc@aol.com or e-mail me. It has some very cool vintage commercials like DEPUTY DAWG for FRITO LAYS. MIGHTY MOUSE Vitamins, all sort of HANNA-BARBERA characters, SUPERMAN and MUSKY SOAKY toys, UPA Disney commercials, etc.
My friend BILL JACKSON and RAY RAYNER at a Chicago MUSEUM OF BROADCAST COMMUNICATIONS event some years back! We are still working on our CHICAGO KID'S TV book. Check http://www.tvparty.com/ and Bill's site at http://www.dirtydragon.com/
I have this on a collector's DVD now for $20 shipped. PAYPAL Rickgoldsc@aol.com This is a rarely seen cel animated RANKIN/BASS special that BURL IVES reprised his SAM THE SNOWMAN role as G.B. BUNNY....vest and all. One of three wonderful RANKIN/BASS Easter specials made!
"Big G little O"TARGET Stores have these GREAT vintage box art designs on their current cereal boxes. A far cry from the horrible airbrushed cereal box art we always see on the store shelves these days! Grab them up soon before they are gone (I was at a store tonight and they stocked these better than last year's supply). Maybe they will start reissuing more classic box designs!
HAPPY PRESIDENTS' DAY! Here are some illustrations by my friend JACK DAVIS from his 1965 book MEET ABRAHAM LINCOLN. This book is what brought Jack's art to the attention of ARTHUR RANKIN, JR. and lead to him illustrating the WILLY McBEAN & HIS MAGIC MACHINE one sheet poster in 1965, designing the KING KONG series in 1966 and then designing MAD MONSTER PARTY in 1967! Arthur often talks about Jack's wonderful pen and ink work on the pages of this book. Ron Murphy gave me this book as a gift a few years back.
One more day on the WILLY McBEAN & HIS MAGIC MACHINE DVD Holiday offer! E-mail rickgoldsc@aol.com and THANK YOU for making this such a GREAT Success! I know you will enjoy the re-mastered film for years to come!
