The Real story behind the Rankin/Bass Productions Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer puppets

Punch and Judy from the unproduced episode of The Enchanted World of Danny Kaye! They were to be voiced by Jerry Lewis and Carol Burnett! You can hear demos from the production on our cd of The Daydreamer! #Punchandjudy

Christmas 2025! Tonight, I was invited by my friend John P. to a Preview at Tekky toys (They made my giant Bumble 9.75 feet, in 2024) of three new animatronic Rankin/Bass Productions Christmas figures, that will be sold at Lowe's this Holiday season. They have my stamp of approval. I am sworn to secrecy on which characters, as Lowe's hasn't even seen them in-person yet, but I will post more info when I can! #Rankinbassproductionsofficial #rudolphtherednosereindeer

Today is the 60th Anniversary of Rankin/Bass' Willy McBean and his magic machine (their first feature film) and it is in my etsy shop! Many don't realize it was shot simultaneously with Rudolph and features the same voice cast!

Best Holiday season ever!!!

I am doing all kinds of interviews now 🎄 I just did one with my friend Jordan Newell White . I met Doug Herendeen at the Carlisle Comic Con, and we are taping an interview Monday to air next Saturday onWRTA Weekend (Saturdays 11 to 1) - Talk Radio 98.5 & 1240 WRTA in Pennsylvania. Rudolph's 60th is pretty big news, with the switch back to NBC-tv! Our Year without a Santa Claus and 'Twas the night before Christmas 50th Anniversary book is going gangbusters too! Bring on the best and busiest holiday season ever! 🇺🇸👏

Dear NBC, Rankin/Bass' Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer was filmed using a stop-motion process called Animagic. It was not Claymation. - Rick Goldschmidt #NBC #rudolphtherednosedreindeer #Christmas

Merry Christmas in July!

It is rare to have all six of my books in-stock at the same time, but I do have all six right now!  The Biggest discount you can get are with the bundles (and you do get Hardcovers, not softcovers as it says on the website) at www.miserbros.com   BUT I do have SALE copies of my Mad Monster Party book and my Making of Rudolph book, in my ETSY shop at www.etsy.com/shop/MISERBROS   I just learned that the Umbrella Mad Monster Party blu ray is back in-stock on the Umbrella website and on Amazon.  As I stated before, this is the BEST Rankin/Bass Productions blu ray to date with my full cooperation!  I also just learned that the book on Rankin/Bass' The Last Dinosaur (with a foreword by me) is out!  I will post pictures soon!  I am going to put a few rare things in my ETSY shop shortly!  I have a cd of the Rankin/Bass off-Broadway play A Month of Sundays.  A preview show was taped in 1968 and the audio is so so, but it is a rare documentation of this production that I thought fans might enjoy!   Also, a DVD of the Rankin/Bass feature film Marco.  The film stars Zero Mostel and Desi Arnaz Jr. and writer Romeo Muller even makes an appearance.  The special thing about the film, is the short Animagic segment featuring the song "Peace Berries."  Masaki Iizuka felt this was the BEST Animagic segment Rankin/Bass Produced!  I agree, it is one of their best, so wanted to make it available.  Merry Christmas in July!

Marco's peace berry Animagic sequence is sensational!

Punch and Judy was going to be an episode of Rankin/Bass' The Enchanted world of Danny Kaye starring Carol Burnett and Jerry Lewis. I got to see the Animagic figures in Bermuda, when we set up Arthur's Galaxy at Masterworks museum in 2014. Look for an Animagic internet magazine article from me this coming Monday! #rankinbassproductions #truthbomb #history #classictv
