I watched this tonight. My late friends Bob McFadden and Bradley Bolke did voices. Great soundtrack! The animation and lettering is the same as TOM OF T.H.U.M.B., done at the same time. The Easter egg on the dvd is the moon under the Big Ben clock. #mothergoose

I see Rankin/Bass' The Wacky World of Mother Goose will be on this Thursday on TCM at 6:15 pm (I believe that is Eastern time). They usually show this film in the wee hours of the morning, so this is a rare evening showing. Not their best film, but it is interesting for many reasons and it has a pretty good musical soundtrack. Rankin/Bass' The Wacky World of Mother Goose on TCM May 11th!

Shawn Mulligan alerted me to the fact that TCM is showing Rankin/Bass' The Wacky World of Mother Goose starring the voice talent of Oscar Winner Margaret Rutherford on May 11th. I Co-Produced the dvd release with Anchor Bay many years ago and helped with the cd soundtrack release (which is excellent!) as well. While the film is not one of the better entries in the Rankin/Bass catalog, it has many interesting facts related to it. This was the first Rankin/Bass Production that Paul Coker, Jr. got involved with by designing the LP cover. I was originally going to call my first book The Wacky World of Rankin/Bass, but Arthur didn't think of his work as Wacky :)! At any rate, I have offered to provide the back stories on these Joseph E. Levine films on Turner Classic Movies (as recently as a few weeks ago) and hope to do just that one day. It's Mad Monster Party's 50th and they show it every so often. I have a large ring binder full of The Daydreamer as well. Shawn says The Daydreamer soundtrack is on Spotify and Itunes now. TCM is showing RANKIN/BASS' MAD MONSTER PARTY and THE WACKY WORLD OF MOTHER GOOSE.   One day I, and possibly Arthur, would like to go on TCM and talk about the films of R/B with a R/B film festival including THE DAYDREAMER and possibly WILLY McBEAN & HIS MAGIC MACHINE and THE LAST UNICORN.   RUDOLPH & FROSTY'S CHRISTMAS IN JULY could be shown too....it was released as a feature film in 1979.   We can't forget about KING KONG ESCAPES too!
