Too bad this is long gone, but my Des Plaines History center appearance in December, is being moved to a bigger venue to seat more guests! Rudolph's 60th and our new book are creating quite a buzz! — at Des Plaines History Center.

 

I remember when this was in Des Plaines

I made these 1981-82 at McD. My Dad was a cop and came in for his free breakfast on the weekends.

This first Ray Kroc owned McDonald's in Des Plaines, which opened in 1955 was removed by some idiots in corporate several years back. A Shame! Looks like 400 Burger Kings are set to close this year!

Shrimpenstein

I just watched my Shrimpenstein DVD again and always forget how many great commercials are on here including the first Quisp and Quake, McDonald's, Sugar Daddy, Hornel hot dogs, Kellogg's, etc.  Wonderful stuff!   Shrimpie was designed by Wah Ming Chang (Hardrock, Coco and Joe, Suzy Snowflake, etc.) and Gene Moss was a writer on Roger Ramjet, Lance Link Secret Chimp and more.  In fact, I found a mint copy of his Dracula's Greatest Hits with cards (Jack Davis cover) today!
