ROCKY & HIS FRIENDS box set

I have to say, I REALLY like the packaging on this new box set! I am not just saying that, because my friend Patrick Owsley's art was used for Bullwinkle either. The book is very nice, the design of the box is spectacular and the Button/ribbon (Which also has Patrick's Bullwinkle on it) is a very nice surprise. Many people were complaining on AMAZON about the fact that they bought the first four seasons (Which I also did) and wanted season 5 alone (Which they are issueing now) BUT if you are a fan of great cartoon packages, this is the BEST I have seen. Blows away the RANKIN/BASS BLU RAY set packaging of a few months ago, by the same company.

When I updated the book a few years back, I changed the photos on the BURL IVES FOREWORD page and this is one of the photos I used. It wasn't in the original editions of the book.

ROCKY & who?

and Since I am on vacation this week, I thought I would take a drive up to TARGET and BEST BUY to see if they had the ROCKY & BULWINKLE season 4 set released today. No such luck....they did have HUNG season 1, KICK ASS and FAMILY GUY season 5! What is the world coming to??? They didn't even have the BUGS BUNNY or DAFFY DUCK single discs. I ordered everything from http://www.amazon.com/ when I got home...FREE shipping and no tax. When BEST BUY or TARGET do have classic stuff, it is full price + tax. Who is doing their buying? Total garbage everywhere you look in their stores now.

I am looking forward to ROCKY & BULWINKLE season 4 to be released finally on August 17th! It has been 5 years since season 3 (Which I have on right now). My dear friend June Foray did many voices in the series including the famous ROCKY THE FLYING SQUIRREL!

We picked up these nice QUAKER OATS retro boxes today! QUAKER never should have stopped using the classic JAY WARD art! The stuff they use now doesn't even resemble the character. This is the BEST he has looked in years and they should make these boxes their regular art!
