 Tommy Smothers R. I.P. Tom and Dick opened the 1970 Rankin/Bass TV Special The Mad, Mad, Mad Comedians, which was the highest rated Rankin/Bass TV Special of All-time! One of the big reasons that it was so highly rated, was that it aired right before the Academy Awards on ABC TV. I always loved Tom and Dick! I have all of 

 

their record albums and have watched all of their television appearances. I recently re-watched SMOTHERED, which really gets into the nitty gritty of their CBS TV Show and what happened. #Tomsmothers #Thesmothersbrothers

Rankin/Bass' The Mad, Mad, Mad Comedians is fifty!

 I just realized that Rankin/Bass' The Mad, Mad, Mad Comedians was broadcast on ABC-TV twice in 1970.  Once sponsored by Pepsico just before the Academy Awards and was the highest rated TV Special for Rankin/Bass Productions ever!  Then it was broadcasted in the Fall of 1970 wih a different set of sponsors seen above!  I have the dvd in my ETSY store right now and the dvd includes some other things on it as well!

 This event will feature a presentation by me for Christmas, including some rare clips, music, questions and answers, etc.   Tickets are $10.  The admission also allows you to peruse the fantastic museum (Sample picture below).  Rankin/Bass Productions Produced The Mad, Mad, Mad Comedians and worked with some of the great comedians of all-time!   I will have my regular table of Rankin/Bass items at the event and do a book signing as well!
