Bob McGrath sent me this message today :) I think it might have been RANKIN/BASS' THE STINGIEST MAN IN TOWN 1978, that he did some group singing on: Bob McGrath Hey Rick Goldschmidt.. sorry I didn't get back to you before Aug 9.. would have asked you to pass a hello on to Jack Davis.. The Rankin Bass logo rang an old bell! I have a hunch that many years ago I did one of the many Christmas Specials RB produced as a group singer..possibly for a good friend Bernie Hoffer (arranger and composer)..Hope all is well with you..

If you have my book THE ARTHUR RANKIN, JR. SCRAPBOOK: The Birth of Animagic, you probably already read about this, but Tony Peters, designer of the early Rankin/Bass series and specials went on to create segments for Sesame Street with his company Instant Miracles, Inc.. I believe that is how this Rosko toy from Rankin/Bass' The New Adventure of Pinocchio wound up in this famous segment that aired over and over again! Tony was a wonderful guy with a great sense of humor. #sesamestreet #jimhenson #rankinbass

Holiday memories explode from this festive book!

NO....RANKIN/BASS did not animate the NORELCO Shaver commercials...many have asked. It was done in a similar stop-motion style that we all loved because it reminded us of RANKIN/BASS ANIMAGIC!

Here is the Author in 1971, getting the very same gifts my brother Chris (Oscar the grouch) and I (Cookie Monster) for Christmas that year. I recall cutting the cookies out from Cookie's box and sliding them down his throat :)
