Watching my 12-25-65 Hollywood Palace with Bing Crosby, Fred Waring and the Pennsylvanians, cast of Hogan's Heroes, Bob Williams and Louie, etc. Just transferred to dvd! Great commercials!

I was just thinking of how this was really the last great
Christmas performance (Pre auto-tune).   It first aired after we lost
many greats in 1977 including Bing Crosby, Elvis Presley, Groucho Marx,etc.

 I remember watching it when it aired.  It was pure Animagic!
The closest I ever came to David Bowie, was performing at one of the small clubs he played at in the 1970's in Chicago known as Tutt's.
