Memories

I went back to the old house about Twenty years ago..it had changed quite a bit. I took some of my books to Stony Creek school, for their library.

My Dad back in the early days in Alsip, IL 🇺🇸🏠I asked my mom tonight: How did we have a home built in 1966? She said my Dad worked three shifts at Nabisco and delivered Fox's Pizza, before he began welding and eventually became a police officer.

It is so much fun to look back at the great childhood I had 😄 Much of the reason for what I do now...

We had this one! It was before Marx came out with the Big Wheel!

 

Now, this was a year for shopping! We would hop in the car and go to Zayre, Woolworth's, Bargain Town, Kresge's, Montgomery ward's, etc. OR I would hop on my bike and go to Alsip Certified (bought my Aurora Models there), White hen, Alsip pharmacy, The Treasury, t-shirt shop, etc. #thepartidgefamily #shoppingbag

I went in the top of one of these, in our park, many times!

I grew up in an absolutely wonderful Era! That is why I do what I do, to preserve history. I had the freedom to ride my bike many miles to buy baseball cards and Aurora models at the Alsip Certified and White Hen Pantry. I enjoyed baseball and playing outside until the street lights came on. Some in the media like to call what is going on now, the "new normal." It is not normal. I am glad to see some people are finally waking up. It doesn't have to be the end of an era. #memories

Rocky Sodin's Southside Comic Book Show #2 was a big hit with old and young alike!

 Attendance was up nearly double from last year and on a beautiful September weather day too!

 I rolled out some extremely rare stuff on DVD and in my portfolios today!

 Darryl Young and I finally met (even though we have been friends on Facebook for a long while and have done shows together) and he gifted me this cool R/B Button set!

 Darryl, who was quite busy selling today!

 My friend Chris Radz stopped by and wanted me to send best wishes to my Dad.   They worked together on the Alsip Police Department and Chris became the Police Chief for many years until he retired.

 My neighbor George Tackes biked the 5 miles to the show, two years in a row!   Good to see him out and he and Darryl had a nice chat!

 I am ready for the next one!  Rocky and I are doing TOYZ 'N' COSPLAY next Sunday in Oak Lawn 9-2 pm!

 They had great food at the show and I ate early, but had to hit RAISING CANE'S on the way home!   BEST Chicken anywhere!

 I played Basketball at the Apollo when I was in Jr. High, but I remembered today that I took my first guitar lessons there in the early 1970s.   I remember the lessons were the night The Rookies were on and I hated to miss The Rookies.

79 for the High today and no humidity!   Beautiful, September Fall weather has arrived!!!

My next, fun, family show! Rocky, Lily and more will be there! In my old home town Alsip!

A good way to kick off the Fall right! I will be returning to the Southside Comic Book Show September 14th!

This is a fun Fall Family event!  I grew up in Alsip and this will be the 2nd show my friend Rocky will be putting on!  His daughter Lily will have a Frosty drawing in my new book on Frosty the Snowman!   I will be just getting back from Dragon Con in Atlanta and wanted to kick the Fall off just right!   It will be a Mad Monster Party and you are all invited!   9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Apollo Recreation Center!

My brother Chris and I getting Action Jackson figures from Santa Claus at an Alsip Police Department Christmas party at Reno Corsi's in Alsip, many years back. I remember that shirt. We both got the re-issues of that figure recently. I was assisting with photos for the producers of our new TV show today and remembered to scan these. #christmas #actionjackson #alsipolicesepartment
