OZ: The National Convention

If you're planning to attend Oz, the National Convention Aug. 3-6 this year, the time to register is ... now. Seriously, we are two months out and need to get a handle on headcount. Plus every time Scott Cummings mails an e-newsletter, he awards a unique Oz print to someone who's registered. And you can't win if you aren't registered. Just sayin! Join us for this unforgettable weekend packed with Oz fun and friends. We start with a kick off party at Wally Krueger's house Thursday night and don't stop until late Sunday. It'll be so worth the trip! Plan now, and get that registration in! www.OzConvention.org   - Jane Albright

The Starving Artists will be playing on the roof of the Joliet Historical Museum from 9:00 pm until 10:30 pm August 4th too!  We will be hosting an OZ Music night with various performers.

CHRISTMAS CLICK BAIT (to get hits, but not researched properly)

Just looked at a "click bait" Frosty article with 10 things you never knew about Frosty the Snowman. Unfortunately, the authors of these articles don't know either. One thing they said is that June Foray's voice was featured in the first few broadcasts of Frosty. FALSE: She recorded the voice of Karen, but was replaced by a small girl actress, before it aired in 1969. Her recording remained on the MGM soundtrack release as Karen. I actually worked on the CD release through Warner Bros/Rhino music group. I have seen many things I have said or put in my books, written about online, either half right or completely wrong and never crediting where they got the information

This Sunday!

Come out to meet us this Sunday 5-8 pm on the NEW Patio at FOX'S PIZZA ORLAND PARK (Illinois).  If all goes well, we will be here every Sunday!  $12 Large Cheese Pizza special on SUNDAY and their Pizza is Amazing!  There is also a 10 for $10 entree special.   My family has been going here for many, many years and my Dad delivered Pizza for Mr. Fox when he started the business.  In this picture you will notice a NEW Metra structure across the street.  They bought out and bull dozed the mall that was across the street with one of my favorites...LANG LEE.   See you Sunday!

Several years ago....

I assisted ENESCO CORP with designing a RANKIN/BASS' HERE COMES PETER COTTONTAIL line of figurines. It was one of my favorite RANKIN/BASS series that I gave Direction on.

One of my cards....

I was looking all over the place for one of these and one popped up today...My Christmas card from 1990, on high glossy paper of THE THREE LITTLE DWARVES. I began my work as the editorial cartoonist at THE REPORTER newspapers and I was using DUO SHADE BOARD and thought it would lend itself well to Hardrock, Coco and Joe :)
