THE WACKY WORLD OF MOTHER GOOSE soundtrack CD now available from us!

We now have the soundtrack CD of THE WACKY WORLD OF MOTHER GOOSE! I have it on EBAY under seller ANIMAGIC1 and we will have it at www.rankinbass.com soon too in our SHOPPE. This CD has nice graphics on the CD and cover...it is the first PAUL COKER, JR. artwork for RANKIN/BASS. The sound quality is VERY GOOD and the CD is sealed. This is NOT one of my archival, hand-made CDs, it is a professional release of the classic LP. I worked on the DVD release of the film for ANCHOR BAY and wrote the liner notes. ANCHOR BAY loaded their RANKIN/BASS DVDs with neat extras! Check out THE DAYDREAMER and MAD MONSTER PARTY? as well!

SHAG SKATEBOARDING! Recording demos and possible BORDERS BOOKS tour this Holiday season!

Lots going on these days in my life... Finished up work on the JAPANESE RUDOLPH book. Planning a HOLIDAY CD performance tour/book signing tour at BORDERS BOOKS & MUSIC in Illinois! Dates and store information to follow soon. I recorded a new demo of a song I wrote just last week called "How can you sleep at night?" I recorded it at SWEET MEAT STUDIOS in Northbrook, Illinois with TOM MARGARITES. Dennis Riordan played BASS and I actually ended up playing Rhythm and Lead guitar and doing all the singing. I am very happy with this particular demo and I want to add it to my MY SPACE page soon www.myspace.com/rickgoldschmidt . In my spare time, my son JOSH and I have been doing a bit of skateboarding on my new SHAG board. It is good exercise and a great way to relax! I am also planning some more LIVE performances soon for THE STARVING ARTISTS...stay tuned!

MISER BROS by SHAG!

Here is a GREAT early SHAG painting that our friend JOSH AGLE shared with the world of RANKIN/BASS! He did it for a CHRISTMAS card for his wife. VERY COOL! Many have been e-mailing about the WARNER BROTHERS Christmas DVDs that we mentioned a while back at www.rankinbass.com WARNER BROTHERS was talking about a HOLIDAY DVD box set that included THE LIFE & ADVENTURES OF SANTA CLAUS and others BUT I have heard nothing for the past year and fear they dropped the ball once again. They were talking about doing a DOCUMENTARY with ARTHUR RANKIN, JR. and JULES BASS, which is long overdue too! Hopefully someone will brighten up over there and it will still happen. CRICKET ON THE HEARTH did come out on DVD this month starring DANNY THOMAS and MARLO THOMAS ! CLASSIC MEDIA/SONY WONDER issued it. EXTRAS on these DVDs is a no brainer BUT absent from their releases?

KYOKO KITA checks in!

KYOKO KITA checked in on this blog and saw her original ANIMAGIC creations beautifully restored! She was VERY happy to see SANTA & RUDOLPH restored to their original glory and displayed in a nice glass case and she hopes they stay that way for many years to come:0) I contacted her because I am now assisting PETIT GRAND PUBLISHING INC. in JAPAN with the Japanese version of my book on THE MAKING OF RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER for Japanese consumption. It has been alot of fun delving through the materials once again and the book will be released in JAPAN this Christmas!

Legendary HANNA-BARBERA Designer ED BENEDICT passes at age 94!

ED BENEDICT is one of my favorite designers of all time! Unfortunately he passed away this past Monday 08-28-06 at age 94. Ed designed such HANNA-BARBERA classics as YOGI BEAR, THE FLINTSTONES, LIPPY THE LION, HUCKLEBERRY HOUND and even the first H-B Show RUFF & READY! He also did some wonderful commercial designs as seen here and was currently working on a project with my friend DAVID SCHEVE of www.thedeeparchives.com. ED will be missed by many in the animation community!

Ho Ho Ho! Ho Ho Ho! We are Santa's Elves!

JOSH and I were showing RARE RANKIN/BASS clips during WIZARD WORLD and handing out tons of Promo cards! We even borrowed the ELF GIRL's hat. We enjoyed meeting and greeting all the GREAT RANKIN/BASS fans and brought many RARE things to sell as well. I have some left overs that I am listing on EBAY under seller ANIMAGIC1 and MISER BROS! LOIS LANE is a RANKIN/BASS Fan!

NOEL NEILL was also at WIZARD WORLD and as it turns out IS a... RANKIN/BASS fan! TV's LOIS LANE from the classic TV Series SUPERMAN with GEORGE REEVES! I brought her my book and she began to tell me the history of the RUDOLPH & SANTA 'ANIMAGIC' figures. Turns out she took a look at them before the con opened and read up on the history. She told me the BUMBLE was her favorite character and we brought her over a large BUMBLE courtesy of TIME & SPACE TOYS! NOEL was GREAT company and even came over and visited with SANTA at our booth! What a SUPER Lady! We Love NOEL! She is definitely a CHRISTMAS NOEL!

THE ENCHANTED WORLD OF MODELS!

RANKIN/BASS and MODELS? YES! TIME & SPACE TOYS had the BEST booth at this year's WIZARD WORLD CONVENTION in CHICAGO! We had the original ANIMAGIC Production figures of RUDOLPH & SANTA, Beautiful Models Lela (Portraying a character from STARGATE on one side of the booth) and Laura (Portraying a RANKIN/BASS Girl Elf), SANTA CLAUS (Tom Frederick) and RARE clips on TV with all kinds of RANKIN/BASS merchandise! It was GREAT! SANTA was even interviewed (As was I) for a CHICAGO area TV Show that will air closer to CHRISTMAS. KEVIN and www.timeandspacetoys.com are taking a similar event to PENNSYLVANIA this December! You won't want to miss it if you live near there! Also, in about a month or so, NECA is issueing a new line of YEAR WITHOUT A SANTA CLAUS Action figures and Products! YES...the HEAT & SNOW MISERS will be available again! They used the sculpts from the GREAT line that PACIFIC PALISADES did about four years ago for SUNCOAST, SAM GOODY, etc. These are some of the BEST RANKIN/BASS figures to be released! You will be able to order from TIME & SPACE TOYS!

RUDOLPH & SANTA Live again in CHICAGO!

After more than 40 years, SANTA & RUDOLPH from TV's RANKIN/BASS TV Special RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER make a public appearance THANKS to KEVIN KREISS www.timeandspacetoys.com ! They were beautifully restored by SEAMUS and MARK at www.screen-novelties.com ! I can't even tell which side of SANTA's mustache was missing anymore...they matched it so perfectly! RUDOLPH has a perfect bulb nose that is fully functional and they made a nice diorama base for the figures. There is talk of doing exact replicas for the collector's market...STAY TUNED for NEWS on that as well! Many more pictures from WIZARD WORLD to come this week!

We had a WONDERFUL time at WIZARD WORLD this past weekend and have TONS of pictures to share this week! A BIG THANK YOU goes out to KEVIN KREISS and www.timeandspacetoys.com! KEVIN was the BEST host and what a GREAT group he assembled for the event including our beautiful models LAURA and LELA! The ANIMAGIC figures of SANTA & RUDOLPH looked prestine THANKS to www.screen-novelties.com (More PICS to follow!) and the media covered the event including WGN MORNING NEWS! We had a GREAT turn out and it was wonderful meeting and greeting all of the RANKIN/BASS fans that we correspond with over the internet. We made friends with NOEL NEILL...TV's LOIS LANE and it turns out she is a RANKIN/BASS fan and even came to our booth to visit SANTA (Played by TOM FREDERICK). She loves the BUMBLE! I will share many pics over the next few days so STAY TUNED!!!

Off to see the WIZARD WORLD CON in the AM!

This CHICAGO con may be one of the biggest RANKIN/BASS events thus far! My promo postcards came back from the printer today...I am very happy with them. We will give these out to visitors of the TIME & SPACE TOYS tables. KEVIN at TIME & SPACE brought a nice lit case for the ANIMAGIC figures of RUDOLPH & SANTA and made a throne for the live SANTA CLAUS to sit in for the DIGITAL PICS that can be taken. If you get your picture taken with SANTA and the two classic puppets, you get a $10 off coupon for any other merchandise at the tables. There will also be two professional girl models at the booth. One will be in a girl elf costume from RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER! Hope to meet many die hard fans over the three day period and I will post pictures from the event when I return home! WGN NEWS may be covering the event and they have already written about it on-line and in the CHICAGO TRIBUNE REDEYE newspaper.

I will now also be at the WIZARD WORLD CONVENTION at the DONALD H. STEPHENS CONVENTION center on FRIDAY AUG. 4th! Alot of planning has gone into this event and along with a LIVE SANTA CLAUS (At the TIME & SPACE TOYS tables)...a girl model elf will also be there with me! I am bringing alot of RARE stuff to sell there as well. Hope to see you there! In between all this planning, I have also been assisting with a book on SNOWMEN, that will feature RANKIN/BASS' FROSTY and SAM THE SNOWMAN too!
