Thursday at 7 PM – 9 PM The Comedy Shrine 4034 Fox Valley Center Dr, Aurora, Illinois 60504 Join Official Rankin/Bass Productions Historian/Biographer Rick Goldschmidt for a night of Christmas history, humorous stories, rare Rankin/Bass TV Special clips and Questions and Answers. He will also be bringing an array of Rankin/Bass items and doing a book signing for those last-minute Christmas gifts. Rick is the expert on the television classics Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman (The subject of his new 6th book on Rankin/Bass), the Heat Miser and Snow miser from Rankin/Bass' The Year Without A Santa Claus, Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town, The Little Drummer Boy and more! This will be a fun, family night to celebrate the holidays and the work of Arthur Rankin, Jr. and Jules Bass. Rankin/Bass also created their highest-rated comedy special called The Mad, Mad, Mad Comedians in 1970, which was the lead into the Academy Awards. It featured Jack Benny, George Burns, Phyllis Diller, Groucho Marx, The Smothers Brothers and many other legends in Comedy. Rick will have that on DVD as well.
