TOPPIE THE ELEPHANT 1960

A FACEBOOK friend posted the grocery store picture c. 1960 below, because he thought the elephant displays in the background looked like they were from Rankin/Bass' The Island of Misfit toys.  I knew I saw the elephant before and it was in my friend Warren Dotz's book MEET MR. PRODUCT :)

PUNCH ME'S

Bop RANKIN/BASS' KING KONG with Susan and Bobby on his shoulders...

Who doesn't love colored vinyl?

I was fortunate to co-produce the CD version of this soundtrack in 2002 with Warner music group and Rhino :)  would love to see a colored vinyl release for the 45th anniversary!

Bop bag

The Rankin/Bass King Kong bag was great!  I always wanted the Batman bag as a kid.

Let's do this thing...

A quality documentary with the people that actually worked on the films!

The Wolfman

I appeared on Svengoolie last year during The Wolfman...could not have picked a better film :)

THE ADDAMS FAMILY

SPACELAB9 ANNOUNCES “THE ADDAMS FAMILY: ORIGINAL MUSIC FROM THE ADDAMS FAMILY” 50th ANNIVERSARY EDITION SOUNDTRACK LP

September 17th, 2015 – They’re creepy and they’re kooky, mysterious and spooky, they’re all together ooky, The Addams Family! These immortal lyrics, first penned by composer Vic Mizzy in 1964, are indelibly etched in the psyche of America and of pop culture fans the world over, and rightfully so. Although the series, like it’s popular counterpart The Munsters, lasted only two seasons from 1964 to 1966, it has remained in syndication and at the forefront of popular culture for over 50 years, spawning an animated series, two feature films, several books, toys, video games and a dizzying array of merchandise for kids of all ages.

In honor of the 50th Anniversary of the beloved series, Spacelab9 invites all to once again visit the family at 0001 Cemetery Lane for a long-awaited musical trip down memory lane with the release of “THE ADDAMS FAMILY: ORIGINAL MUSIC FROM THE ADDAMS FAMILY” 50th ANNIVERSARY EDITON LP, which will hit record store shelves on October 16th 2015. Out of print for nearly 30 years, “THE ADDAMS FAMILY: ORIGINAL MUSIC FROM THE ADDAMS FAMILY” LP has been painstakingly remastered and packaged in a full color jacket with a full color 12” x 24” double-sided insert featuring rare photos as well as extensive liner notes chronicling the history of the iconic television series. Inexplicably omitted from the original 1965 soundtrack album, the essential vocal version of The Addams Family series’ theme song has been added as a bonus track.

This deluxe limited vinyl edition will be released in four colored vinyl variants, each available exclusively from different retailers throughout the holiday season. Variants include a Glow-In-the-Dark Vinyl “Fester’s Lightbulb” edition only available from Barnes & Noble, a “Cousin Itt” Brown Vinyl edition exclusively from Hastings, and a “Lurch” Green Vinyl edition exclusive to Newbury Comics. A very small edition of “Black Pumpkin” splatter vinyl will be available exclusively from the Spacelab9 booth at New York Comic Con from October 8th – 11th. Collect ‘em all!

Jack Larson R.I.P.

Jimmy Olsen lives on forever in The Adventures of Superman!  Just watched Jack in his episode of Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C. and was thinking about him.

The Starving Artists by Paul Coker, Jr.

This goes back to around 2003-2004 with my sister Lindsey and pal Tom Margarites.  Paul sent me all of his preliminary sketches to get to the final painting, to show me what he goes through to get to the final :)
