It's Danny Kaye's Birthday!

It's Danny Kaye's Birthday! He spent a lot of time with Arthur Rankin, Jr. and Jules Bass in 1971-1972 and enjoyed it! He appeared on The Dick Cavett show and spoke of both producers. He shot two specials with them, one was a pilot for a series that wasn't picked up. Arthur talks about a funny apparel incident in my books. C. 2012 Miser Bros Press/Rick Goldschmidt Archives

Trundle?

Didn't realize John McGiver died the year after 'Twas aired.  He only got to see the initial broadcast.

It's About Time

I caught an episode of IT'S ABOUT TIME over the weekend.   They are showing it on antenna tv now.

SESAME STREET

If you have my book THE ARTHUR RANKIN, JR. SCRAPBOOK: The Birth of Animagic, you probably already read about this, but Tony Peters, designer of the early Rankin/Bass series and specials went on to create segments for Sesame Street with his company Instant Miracles, Inc.. I believe that is how this Rosko toy from Rankin/Bass' The New Adventure of Pinocchio wound up in this famous segment that aired over and over again! Tony was a wonderful guy with a great sense of humor. #sesamestreet #jimhenson #rankinbass
