RANKIN/BASS' THE KING KONG SHOW

 c. 1966 RANKIN/BASS PRODUCTIONS/RICK GOLDSCHMIDT ARCHIVES

Ron Murphy sent me a link to a RANKIN/BASS' THE KING KONG SHOW blog post today and there were many, many errors in the article and Thankfully, it did not list my books as their source material.  It said that my friend Jack Davis designed the "Angry Kong" and Paul Coker, Jr. designed the "Gentle Kong."  This is not true, Paul Coker had nothing to do with the design of the series.  Jack Davis did all of the early design work on the series and even did some of the initial story boards and then designer Rod Willis finished up much of the design of the series.  The blog post said Rod Willis designed RANKIN/BASS' RETURN TO OZ too.  While Rod did work on the special, most of the design work was done by Antony Peters who also designed the RANKIN/BASS series THE TALES OF THE WIZARD OF OZ.  The post said that Jules Bass continued to work with Arthur on several projects off and on after they ended their partnership including SANTA BABY!,  This is also incorrect, Peter Bakalian was Co-Producer on the later projects including SANTA BABY! and THE KING AND I.

Another day of snow....
