NEW song!
With my brother CHRIS stopping over later tonight....I wrote a NEW song called "Sabotage" that is very drums heavy. Have you ever known someone that is their own worst enemy? They don't know they have something good until they don't have it anymore? Someone who does alot of damage along the way and is never happy, when they should be? That is what this song is about.

I am organizing RARE DVDs I have, to the music of classic HANNA-BARBERA, on this customer appreciation day...among many other things! I have a cool RARE DVD of THE SECRET WORLD OF ATOM ANT & SECRET SQUIRREL (1965) and THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF HANNA-BARBERA: COLOR ME HAPPY (1966). Both are RARE specials featuring BILL HANNA & JOE BARBERA. I also have a DVD with HERMAN MUNSTER (Fred Gwynn) on THE DANNY KAYE SHOW, CHARLIE BROWN'S ALL STARS (1966) with commercials and a black and white PETER POTOMUS SHOW with commercials including a 1966 CAPTAIN ACTION commercial! Another DVD I have includes THE ANDY GRIFFITH, DON KNOTTS & JIM NABORS SHOW w/ commercials! This is cool because ANDY & BARNEY act out a scene from the ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW in color! This DVD also has the un-cut BATMAN 1966 pilot and some Promos! Cool stuff for a beautiful day!

Recording project
Wrote a new song for my latest recording project called "Young Samson." Recording on a 24 track system in MARGARITAVILLE with Tom Margarites. Making good use of my GIBSON LES PAUL Double cutaway guitar.

MINI-GOLF TOURNAMENT! BEAUTIFUL SUMMER DAY!
Josh and I played 36 holes of golf today in the AT&T Mini-golf tournament at HOLLYWOOD PARK in Crestwood, Illinois! GORGOUS DAY to do so!
I also mailed out 20 RANKIN/BASS DVD packages...so if you ordered one from me this week, it is on it's way. More to come! Just got in the MAD, MAD, MAD COMEDIANS (RARELY seen RANKIN/BASS Special from 1970), the extended version of THE BERMUDA DEPTHS with the scenes only seen in the European market and THE FLIGHT OF DRAGONS (BEST SELLER!)! 
HOLY BAT COSTUME!
HOLLYWOOD PARK has this BATMAN costume from ADAM WEST's collection. It was made for the 30th Anniversary of the 1966 series and worn by him in a BATMAN magazine FAMOUS MONSTERS OF FILMLAND issued. I can tell the components were made by my pal CLINT YOUNG and the cowl came from WALLY WINGERT (as did the one in my collection).

BATMAN: The movie 1966
You can't beat this film! Nice alternative to watching an extremely violent and disturbing , over-hyped film like THE DARK KNIGHT. Not sure what the company was thinking when they designed this cover though....probably of tapping into the DARK KNIGHT audience.

They are restoring OCTAVIA from THE FIRST CHRISTMAS (1975) right now. They made a RANKIN/BASS ANIMAGIC figure of JINGLE BELLS for my friend PAUL DINI, a few years ago. They also did the GREAT ANIMAGIC type segment of THE FLINTSTONES ON THE ROCKS, which resembled the VIEW-MASTER treatments of the HANNA-BARBERA characters.

Josh and I had pretty good seats near Left Field...
Where else can you pay $22 for parking? Your car gets packed in like a sardine and you get your bumper scratched at no extra charge.
ALL STAR WHITE SOX Left Fielder Carlos Quentin!
It is a bit fuzzy...BUT this was right before JOSH HAMILTON hit a three run homer! It was GREAT to see him in action! He set a record in the ALL STAR GAME HOME RUN Derby this year with something like 28 HRs in one round. He already has something like 98 RBIs! AMAZING! JOSH GOLDSCHMIDT became a BIG fan of his tonight! 
One of my co-workers...AD and her friend were there! She gave us a BIG box of RASINETS!

SUNDAY under a shady tree...
My pal DENNIS RIORDAN (Bass player in THE STARVING ARTISTS) built a new box (With very little help from me) around my HUGE Maple tree in front of my house. A big improvement over the one that was there from the previous owner! THANKS Den!
STINGRAY BAY
We were sorry to hear about the deaths of half the STINGRAY pool (Approx. 15) at BROOKFIELD ZOO's STINGRAY BAY. Apparently, there was an equipment malfuntion or power surge and they were found in 90 degree water last Monday am.

Arthur Rankin, Jr., Masaki Iizuka and Jules Bass! Masaki is THE RANKIN/BASS Producer/Director of RANKIN/BASS in Japan and began work with RANKIN/BASS in the early 1970's. He was a GREAT guest at ARTHUR RANKIN's MUSEUM OF TV & RADIO appearance in New York some years back. His PACIFIC ANIMATION animated THE NEW ADVENTURES OF JONNY QUEST.

SILVERHAWKS DVD set
Interesting release. It is coming from the same company that is releasing JACK FROST (WARNER BROTHERS) BUT they failed to mention or include the RANKIN/BASS name/logo on the front cover. Several months ago, I heard from the people WARNER BROTHERS hired to put together the extras. They asked me if I had stuff from the series...I advised I could help with the entire files and have LOTS. I asked for compensation for my help and that was the last I heard from them????? In other words, the SPECIAL FEATURES on this set will not be complete and most likely be garbage. Again, no RANKIN/BASS Documentary with interviews of people that worked on the series?

EBAY: Who is minding the store?
I often wonder who the brilliant minds are behind EBAY these days. They remove the option of leaving negative feedback for sellers. When you ask why???? They send you a form letter answer. When you respond to that....you get another stock response. Did computers actually take over EBAY? Is there any living person there with a thinking brain right now? If you know, let me know.

NEW JACK FROST DVD on the way from WB
Coming this Fall. The SPECIAL FEATURES are garbage BUT I like the cover! They (The people that put the extra features together outside of WARNER BROTHERS) thought fans would like a sing-a-long much better than a RANKIN/BASS Documentary. I like the RANKIN/BASS name on the front cover. They lifted the logo right out of my first book. PATRICK OWSLEY did it.

BILL MELTON: CHICAGO WHITE SOX Slugger!
I got to meet one of my All Time favorites WHITE SOX Players today at the Brookfield Zoo! What a GREAT guy! He was the AL Home run leader of 1971!
Check out his hair in the early 1970's!
Bill signed tons of vintage stuff for my son Josh, my pal Patrick Owsley and myself! It isn't even all pictured here!
GO GO WHITE SOX! Between 1968 and 1975, 'Beltin' Bill Melton was a popular and productive slugger for the White Sox. Melton hit 20 or more home runs five times during his ten-year career, including 33 in both 1970 and 1971. His 33 homers in 1971 led the league, making him the first White Sox player to win the AL Home Run Crown. Melton set a White Sox record by hitting 88 career round trippers at old Comiskey.
Bill does the TV POST GAME WHITE SOX shows on COMCAST SPORTSNET as well as on the radio!

Picked up this VERY large FOAM BIG MAC with wiggle eyes and an original 1960's cup from a dealer that was an advertising executive for McDONALD's today!
A signed hardcover copy of my first book THE ENCHANTED WORLD OF RANKIN/BASS: A PORTFOLIO was spotted in a Palatine, IL Used Book srore glass case last week priced at $650.00!
Picked up this cool 1970 TV GUIDE with three of my favorite things...Jim Henson's early MUPPETS, ED SULLIVAN and CHRISTMAS! There is a GREAT DVD out with all of the early Henson appearances on ED SULLIVAN's show called MUPPET MAGIC!
This brings back memories of Marty MacNeely! 
Original 1970 SANTA CLAUS IS COMIN' TO TOWN ad in TV GUIDE. Looks like they singled out Dingle Kringle!

MONEY FROM HOME
I am a BIG MARTIN & LEWIS fan and MONEY FROM HOME (1954) was missing from the PARAMOUNT box sets. My friend Tom Frederick advised me it was issued as a single DVD 07-08-08. It was their first color movie and shot in 3-D. I actually have two 3-D light up pictures from this film that were used in theater lobbies during it's initial release. Now PARAMOUNT needs to release THREE RING CIRCUS (another one of their color films) and we will be set.

CHRISTMAS IN JULY! PALACE PRESS
Have you ever had someone say they would call you...and then never call? Several times? For something that would benefit them and their company or business? Well, I have and it is extremely agrevating. What is even more ridiculous, is to have that person spin it and put the blame on you. Oh well.... The statement "If you want something done right, you need to do it yourself" has rung true for me time and time again.
